Adam Lee Ketterling

Adam Lee Ketterling “Barney”, was born on March 18th, 1971, in Billings, Montana. The son of Adam and Cleo Ketterling. He was raised in Hardin and graduated from Hardin High School in 1990. He passed away on September 9, 2019.
After graduation Barney moved to Billings and studied auto body mechanics for a year at the Vo-Tech College. Unfortunately, his allergies to paint forced him to take another direction in life. He decided to become a chef starting out at JB’s Restaurant working there during the day and Denny’s in the evening. He was one of the first chefs at the Outback Steak House. He then went to work for Boise Cascade where he stayed for over thirteen years. Barney then moved back to Hardin and was working for the City of Hardin at the time of his death.
His passion was hunting and fishing with his dad and friends. His favorite hunting grounds were out at the Olenik Ranch
(The Burnt Rock). He also enjoyed his annual fishing trips with his dad at Canyon Ferry.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mabel and Adam Ketterling of Ballentine and Lenora and Cleo Woods of Hardin. He came from a very large family consisting of over twenty aunts and uncles, many of whom also preceded him in death.
He is survived by his beautiful children Tayler, age 6, and Hunter, age 4, his parents, Adam and Cleo Ketterling, his sister Julie (Mike) Weber, and nieces Kala and Kirra; together with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial services will be held at Bullis Mortuary on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM. The spreading of his ashes will take place privately at a later date. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
