Adella Dorhea Spotted Horse, 82, of Lodge Grass, went home to be with the Lord on November 29, 2019. Ashéchiash (White Lodge) was born in Crow Agency on March 28, 1937 to Edward and Ethel (Morrison) Not Afraid. Her uncle and aunt Cedric and Julia Not Afraid helped raise her.
Adella grew up on the Not Afraid Ranch in Lodge Grass. She married Newton Old Crow, Sr. and had five children and later divorced. She married Willard Spotted Horse and the couple made their home in Lodge Grass. She earned her certificate in Business Administration from the vocational school on the Glasgow Air Force Base and then was employed as a clerk/typist on the base. Her true calling in life was as a homemaker. She loved to sew, cook and bake. She was an exceptional beader, enjoyed doing ceramics and made clocks with Pendleton faces for her family and friends. Through her faith in the Lord, she opened her door to many brothers and sisters. Adella is a member of the Piegan and a child of the Greasy Mouth clans.
She is preceded in death by her husband Willard, parents Edward and Ethel Not Afraid, Cedric and Julia Not Afraid, sisters Melvina Jefferson, Gail Red Wolf, Bertha Nomee, Georgine Little Nest, Shirley Iron Horse, and Charlotte Spotted Horse; her aunts Mary “Babe” Carpenter, Maude (Eugene) Yarlott, Gloria (Joe) Medicine Crow, and Lorraine (Dexter) Williamson; her uncles Tom, Alvin, Floyd, Art and George Morrison, Leo, Joe Jr, Cyril (Flora) Not Afraid and Arthur Plenty Hawk; and her grandchildren, Shawn North Peigan and Deona Old Crow.
Survivors include her sons Knute (Darreldlene), Newton Jr. (Georgette), Bill, and Rudy (Jessica) Old Crow, and Mark Spotted Horse; her daughters Anne Old Crow, Edwina (Gregg) Stump and Anna (Isaac) Old Crow. Adopted children Michelle (Alfred) Armajo, Curtis Medicine Horse, Marcia Not Afraid, George Little Light, Ginger Little Light, Berthina Nomee, and all of her siblings’ children that she took as her own. Her brothers Edward “Artie” and Alvin Not Afraid Jr, her sister Lorraine (Joseph) Bear Cloud, she took all of her cousins as her brothers and sisters; her aunt, Caroline Mountain Sheep; her grandchildren Lisa, Holly, RJ, Ryan, Vanessa, Brennon, Sariah, Norman, Sophie, Eden, Cedric Old Crow, Jeff Jr, Ilona, Tori North Peigan, Andy (Della) Jr., and Leon Stump. As well as 26 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Her extended family include the Yarlott, Morrison, Medicine Crow, Williamson, Left Hand, Pretty On Top, Bear Below, Backbone, Old Horn, Hugs and Iron. The descendants of Irene Not Afraid Yellowtail.

Services will be held on Wednesday December 4th at 10:00 a.m. at the Spirit of Life Foursquare Church in Crow Agency and burial will be in the Lodge Grass Cemetery.
