Cassie was a member of the Catholic Church and Pentecostal Church. In the summer of 2018, she participated in her first Sundance in Pryor Montana.
Iishbaalititche (Good Shield), given to her by her clan uncle Shawn Back Bone, was born on June 12, 1996 to Lawrence Pete Big Hair and Caroline Tobacco. Cassie was a member of the Greasy Mouth Clan and a child of the Big Lodge.
Cassie grew up in the Crow Agency area, growing up as the older sister she was never without her younger siblings, always looking out for them and making sure they were taken care of. Cassie had a nurturing spirit, by definition, to nurture is to take care of, feed and protect someone-so a nurturing person is a person who by nature is protective and caring, which defines who Cassie was as a person. Cassie showed this nurturing spirit to the love of her heart, Kaizlynn La’Vera Fisher whom she had given her middle name.
Cassie attended Crow Agency public school and Hardin Middle School at sixth grade she transferred to Pretty Eagle Catholic Academy where she graduated from 8thgrade. Cassie started her high school education at Lodge Grass High School where she spent the majority of her high school years. During her Jr. high and high school years she participated in cross country, volleyball and where she discovered her love for basketball. Cassie excelled as a point guard for the Lady Indians. She began playing High School basketball on the Lady Indians Varsity team as a freshman. During her high school years she played in basketball tournaments throughout Indian country with some of the best female basketball players from the Crow and Northern Cheyenne reservation. Cassie was proud to be a member of the 2012-13 Lady Indians basketball team, while she was coached by her dad.
Cassie most recently worked at Hardin McDonald’s. On paydays she looked forward to spending her earning on Kaizlynn, whom she considered her first baby. While looking for a fulltime job, she made sure her siblings (Jalen, Julia or Baby Pete) were on time for school or practice.
