Clinton “Porky” Birdhat, Cheyenne name All Runner was born December 25, 1949 in Crow Agency, Montana to Buella (Max Siouxcalf) and Cyrene Ernest Birdhat. Porky was raised on the Northern Cheyenne reservation by his grandparents James Ant and Hannah Hiwalking-Ant. Porky attended school at Busby Tribal school and was a cross country runner. Porky was drafted to the vietnam war where he later received two purple hearts after being wounded by shrapnel in close combat.
After coming back from Vietnam, Porky continued to participate in his life long passion of fancy dancing. Porky started dancing from the age of two and would continue to follow the pow wow trail for the rest of his life. During his travels Porky made many friends and would leave a lasting impact on everyone he met. Porky was very personable and made everyone feel important in his interactions with them. He would greet you with a warm smile and more often than not, one of his many jokes. Because of his good nature, Porky was adopted by many as a son, brother, an uncle, a dad or grandpa.
Porky spent a lot of time in South Dakota and during his time spent there, he participated in ceremonies with the two Red Feather Societies that he was apart of. Porky was a very spiritual person and believed in the power of prayer. He would speak to the youth in our community and would emphasize the importance of our traditional and cultural ways.
Porky is proceeded in death by his wife Cora Thunder Bull, his biological dad Cyrene Ernest Birdhat, his mom Buella Siouxcalf his dad Max Siouxcalf, grandparents James Ant, Hannah Hiwalking-Ant, son Curtis Birdhat, Daughter Shannon Yellow Lodge, Sisters Betty Bird Hat, Theresa Ant, Colleen (Ron) Spang; Brothers Vernon Birdhat and Curtis Ant.
Porky is survived by his Siblings Alvin Birdhat, Sixx LaBeaux, Laforce Siouxcalf, Evangeline (Gilbert) Solis; Nephews Kagan Siouxcalf, Dre LaBeaux, Adriano LaBeaux, Toby LaBeaux, Sundance Ant, Alfonzo Spang, Bo Eaglefeathers; Nieces Leslie Drapeau, Janell Tsosie, Silver Siouxcalf-Eaglefeathers, Patra Siouxcalf, Desta Siouxcalf, Mimi Siouxcalf, Roni (Jordan) Knowhisgun, Latoya Standingrock, Brittany Solis, Crystal Solis and his special Niece and Nephew Heidi and Michael who he took as his daughter and son.
Grandchildren Griffin Fourstar, Haile Fourstar, Daun Fourstar, Shane Frisky, Bandon Redboy, Christian Birdhat, Cailee Birdhat and Cronus Birdhat. His extended family includes the Siouxcalf, Roundstone, Blackwolf, LaRance, McManus, Hiwalker, Birdhat, Thunder Bull and King families.
