D’Allen “Chaz” Tushka, age 20 made his way into eternity on March 15, 2021. He was born on March 13, 2001 to Jim Tushka Jr. and Valenna Medicine Horse in Crow Agency. His grandpa, Billy Backbone gave him his Crow name Ba’ihkammaat balaxxaash “Happiest When He Sings”, He was a member of the Ties the Bundle and a child of the Big Lodge clan. Chaz was the second youngest of his siblings. He grew up outside Crow Agency at the Tushka family home and in the Ashland area. He started his education at St. Labre Catholic School and then Hardin High School. He graduated from Penn Foster High School on March 27, 2019. Following high school he earned his Heavy Equipment Operator ’s Certificate from Wind River Job Corps in Riverton, Wyoming. Chaz enjoyed the outdoors, fishing with his family and countless hunts with his father and older brothers. He really enjoyed and loved to ride horses, especially “his boy Tanto” as he called his prized horse. Chaz was a kindhearted, respectful and reserved young man he took great pride in displaying his hair kept in traditional Crow braids. Chaz would often remind his mother of the love he had for her by spontaneously giving her a gentle kiss on the forehead. He loved all of his nephews and nieces often times stopping by their homes to spend time and play with them. He always had respect and kindness for his brothers in laws out of his great love for all his sisters, often gifting them with his best. Chaz would always be there to help his sisters if they needed anything. He had a gift and loved to work with his hands learning from his father he fixed vehicles for family and friends and never expected anything in return. Many occasions he would take things apart even if they were not broken just to put them back together. One of his greatest passions he had was his “need for speed.” He really enjoyed driving his vehicles and his dirt bike. At the early age of 8 sitting on his toolbox, he learned how to drive on the backroads while hunting in the Mighty Few and Black Lodge areas.
