Desirae Dumont

Desirae Beth Dumont or “Dez”, as she was better known, went to the other side of camp on September 10, 2019 surrounded by her family and friends after an extended illness.
Dez was the daughter of Daniel and Marilyn Bear Cloud Dumont. She was the first grandchild of the late Alice Bear Cloud.
Dez was given the Crow name, “Baawasalatchish” (Always in the Lead) by her Uncle Clayton Mountain Pocket. As a child she would tell people her name was number one. Dez grew up in Mandan, North Dakota where she received her early education and spent her summers with her grandmother in Dunmore, Montana. During the summer of her Junior year she moved to Montana and graduated at Hardin High School in 1998. After high school, she began her career as a CNA and worked at Heritage Acres, Awe-Care Center, IHS and her final employment at the Hardin Group Home. Dez was caring and nurturing, she was a hard worker and loved her job as a CNA and many of her co-workers became like family to her. Dez began her own family with her high school sweet heart, Jarris Yellow Robe, Jr. The couple had three beautiful children; two sons Tristan Barry and Vydale Otto and a daughter Arissa Precious Madeline. After the couple separated, Dez resided in Hardin and continued to work and raise her children. Dez married Dustin (Chad) Plenty Hoops in 2018 and the couple divorced in August of 2019.
Dez was a good mother. She was always involved in activities with her children. She encouraged Vydale, who loves to skateboard, and cheered on Arissa at all her basketball games and track meets. She was especially proud to be an Army Mom, where her oldest son Tristan enlisted in the Army. She threw a big party and invited all her friends and family to celebrate. Dezi, much like her mom, had extraordinary culinary skills and she loved to cook for her friends and family. We were always more then happy to test all her new recipes and enjoy all her famous dishes.
Our beautiful Dezi was so articulate and outgoing. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and her laugh was always the center of attention. Throughout her life, she had so many friends and many became like family to us. Our grief is great and our sorrow is deep, but it is comforting to know so many of you loved her. We will all miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents Daniel and Marilyn Dumont; her grandparents Sadie Mountain Pocket, Alice Bear Cloud, Frances Bud Dumont, Madeline Appelhang Dumont and Elizabeth White Fox; her great grandmothers Pera Not Afraid and Morie Wallace; her aunts Dana BirdinGround, Audrey Downing and Georgia Bear Cloud; her uncles Albert BirdinGround, Leland Little Wolf, Rodney Well Known and Clayton Mountain Pocket.
