Elizabeth Betty Yerger

Our mother has left us to join our dad, but they will both live in our hearts forever.

Betty was born January 29, 1928 in Billings, Montana at her grandparents’ home on Billings south side to Harold and Marie (Kelly) Rehms. She lived in Billings until moving to Santa Monica, California for her freshman year in school. She returned to Billings and her first job was at the Woolworth’s Store. She Later moved to Winnett, Montana and worked in a restaurant there. Upon returning to Billings, she decided to move to Hardin and went to work at the Lobby Cafe.

It was in Hardin that she met a young man, fell in love and married Jake Yerger on March 26, 1947. She always said that she would marry a farmer and she did. To this union four children were born, Linda, Larry, Connie and John.

She helped him on the farm and then went to work at the Purple Cow Restaurant shortly after it opened. She helped Jake in the Massey Ferguson Dealership business that he started in 1979, she retired at the age of 86 from McDonalds after working there for 20 years, a job that she really loved.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jake, mother Marie, stepfather Bill Stansbury, father Harold, stepmother Lydia, brother Harold (Sonny) Rehms, her special aunt and uncle Marie and Alex Knaub and special cousin Jack Skates as well as other uncles, aunts and cousins.

She is survived by her daughter Linda (Walt) Watson, her sons Larry (Cheryl), Harold “Connie” (Nora) and John (Barbara) Yerger; her special cousin Doreen Skates; her 10 grandchildren and three step grandchildren; Jason (Tanya) Watson, Justin (Cori) Watson, Lori (Todd) Lehigh, Gimeelyn (Jason) McCann, Cody Yerger, Sarah (Mike) Hatten, Amy (Nathan) Greer, Annie (Everett) Taylor, Chase (Krissy) Yerger, Devon Yerger; step grandchildren Jason (Melissa) Smith, Joshua (Miriam) Smith and Rob Kepp; 27 great grandchildren Ashley, Alexandria, Kolby, Trey, Tera, Mikayla, Piper, Rylee, Easton, Decker, Isaiah, Noah, Sariah, Mo, Mariah, Deacon, Corbin, Ezra, Seeley, Ella, Brady, Colton, Chance, Kylee, Josiah, Malachi, Lydia, and Judah; four great great grandchildren Royce, Parker, Tatum and Carter; and her “Special Sister” Sandi Choate.

Visitation will be Tuesday staring at 10 AM to 1 PM, limited to 10 people at a time.

Funeral Service Tuesday at 1:30 PM at the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Limited to 50 people. Burial will be at the Fairview cemetery. Graveside open to all, but practicing safe social distancing.
