Ellsworth Francis Ten Bear, age 63, of Minneapolis journeyed to the Spirit World on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina.
He was born on July 28, 1956 in Crow Agency, Montana the son of Ellsworth and Darlene (Beaulieu) Ten Bear. Ellsworth attended Flandreau Indian School where he was a member of the student government and a school rock band affectionately known as the Peanut Band. He also played football and wore jersey #81. He graduated with the class of 1975. Ellsworth was employed in the bakery at Mystic Lake Casino.
He is survived by his loving wife Pamela Ten Bear; his sons Charles and Brian Ten Bear; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren; his daughters Angie Cummins and Darlene Ten Bear; his brothers Gary and Bently Ten Bear, Shawn Backbone and Orville St. Clair; his sisters Carole Arreguin, Jackie Blacksmith and Trivian Ten Bear; and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son Ellsworth “ET” and Baby Brian Ten Bear; his sister-in-law Pat Ten Bear; his uncle Alonzo Ten Bear; his nephews Nakia and Gary Dean Ten Bear; his brothers in spirit Joseph “Toyboy” Stewart and Bradley “Windy” Downwind
An all-night wake will be held on Tuesday, December 3 beginning at 4:00 P.M. until Wednesday, December 4 at 8:00 A.M. at Gichitwaa Kateri Catholic Church located at 3045 Park Ave in Minneapolis. Service on Tuesday, December 3 at 7:00 P.M.
Wake and graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 5th at the Crow Agency Baptist Church in Crow Agency, Montana. The time will be determined by the ability to travel from Minnesota. Interment to follow at the Crow Agency Cemetery in Crow Agency, Montana.
