In Loving Memory of Nehemiah “Rocko” Broken Rope

Nehemiah Howell “Rocko” Broken Rope Nomee 30 of Crow Agency, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017.  He was born February 28, 1987 in Denver, Colorado to Paul Nomee III and Lucy Lynn Broken Rope.  Rocko as he was affectionately called by many, was given his Indian name by his grandfather John Bullinsight; Biia Aakeen Aawsuua Atcheesh “Builds His House On The Rock” was a member of the Big Lodge Clan and was a child of the Big Lodge Clan.  He grew up in Denver, Crow Agency and Lodge Grass area and received his education in Crow Agency, Billings, St. Labre, Montana; Okanogan High School, Okanogan, Washington and Paschal Sherman Indian School, Omak, Washington.  He participated in football in Okanogan High School.  One of his many artwork was selected as the design for t-shirts for the Sunflower Festival in Omak, Washington.

He was preceded in death: Great great grandfather Howell Hooponforehead, whom he was named after; Great great grandparents Godfrey and Lucy Broken Rope; Paul and Gretchen Bull Weasel Nomee Sr.; Great grandmother Dorothy Hoops; Great grandparents Harry and Sarah Grandmother Knife Don’t Mix; Grandmothers, Mary Hoops, Darlene Morning Bixby, Lorena Morning Half, Irma Jean Hoops, Kathleen Broken Rope, Romona Backbone, Daisy Brightwings, Emma, Rita, Harriet and Aurelia Don’t Mix.   Grandfather Paul Nomee Jr., Bill GroVon, Ivan Don’t Mix Sr.; Uncles, Danny and Robert Half, Theodore Nomee Sr.; Aunties Paula Nomee and Brenda Helen Half; Brothers Pudgy Falls Down, Franklin Nomee, William “Bud” Dick and Sister Tiffany Falls Down.

Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Crow Agency Spirit of Life Foursquare Church. Interment will follow in Crow Agency Cemetery.  Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.

    MY Uncle and my Auntie are Godfrey and Lucy Broken Rope; Lucy is my Mother’s Sister who is Dorine Brown Thunder. Johnson Brown Thunder is their Father who is from American Horse Creek, Kyle SD on the Pine Ridge Rez.

    I apologize we didn’t link the time we talked. Maybe it would’ve a little different? ,maybe, maybe not who knows. Either way man above had different plans. I’m going to miss your handsome face, and the time we had. Rest in peace Nehemiah xoxo.

    My lil brother Nehemiah Rocko Broken Rope you’ll always hold a speical place in my heart. I’ll miss you coming over to our house n hanging out. Thank you for everything you done for my family. Love n miss you Rocko.
