Jarred Lee Amyotte

Jarred Lee Amyotte passed away on July 10, 2019 in Lodge Grass.  He was born March 1, 1981 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Dennis Amyotte and Evelyn Birdinground.  His Indian name AnnakaáEé Xíssaash (Owns Outstanding Horse) was given to him by Jack Old Horn. He was raised by the late Albert and Dana BirdinGround and Leo Plain Feather and spent time with his uncle Steve Amyotte.  He was a member of the Whistling Water clan. He received his education at the Pretty Eagle School and attended Lodge Grass High School. Jarred loved horses and as a very young boy was often found in the horse pasture against his grandmother’s wishes.  His first horse named Cotton and he spent many enjoyable hours riding in the Garryowen-Crow Agency area. Jarred was a cowboy, a jockey and excelled at breaking horses. He was bull-rider and as a teen rode the rodeo circuit, often traveling with Andre and Dion LaFrance and the late Jarvis Door. He worked at various ranches in the area, the Yellowtail Market and for many years was the cook at Polly’s in Fort Smith.

Jarred was a humble man and could make friends with anyone.  He had a warm and loving personality which drew others to him.  He could fit in with any crowd. Jarred was fearless and never afraid to try something new and a little dangerous.   

His parents Dennis Amyotte and Evelyn BirdinGround; maternal grandparents Andrew and Inez BirdinGround; paternal grandfather Norbert Amyotte and paternal grandmother Rose Bottineau; a sister Kenzie White Hip; his aunts Lucille and Myra Amyotte and his uncle Patrick Amyotte.

He is survived by his long time companion Pam Bird Hat; his God parents Leo and Janice Hudtez; his grandparents Joseph Pickett, Blaine Falls Down, George (Edith) Reed, Jr., Laura Real Bird, Myrtle Howe, Annette Couture, Ruby Williamson, Rose Reed and Violet Other Medicine; his brothers William and Tim (Ella) Plain Feather, Nathaniel Sharp and Steven Amyotte, Jr.; his sisters Kalley Pretty On Top, Nina BirdinGround and Ivy Amyotte, Sherry House, Barbie Jo Gardner, Stephanie Petty, Julee, Mary, Heidi, Jana Amyotte, Misty Bright Wings, Crystal Spotted, Brandi, Anda, Lynda and Roberta BirdinGround; his uncles Gary Reed, Ricky (Ann) and Eugene (Lydia) BirdinGround, Steve, Charles, Norbert, Jr and Jerry Amyotte; his aunts Hannah (Kenneth) Pretty On Top, Ernestine, Eleanor, Andrea, Barbara BirdinGround, Elsie LaForge, Gloria, Sharon and  Bernice Amyotte; his nieces Ashlei White Hip, Krisann Buffalo, Berdina Dawes, Caitlin, Kylee and Aaliya; his nephews Cassian Iron and Silas Dawes His extended family include the Amyotte, Bottineau, BirdinGround, Reed, Other Medicine and He Does It families.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday July 15th10:00 AM at Dennis Catholic Church with Rosary to be recited Sunday July 14that 4:00 PM in the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Bullis Mortuary is in entrusted with the arrangements.
