Jerry Rollan Russell was born Dec. 9, 1933, in Billings the son of George C and Lola Russell. His family resided on the family farm south of Hardin. Jerry graduated from Hardin High School and after joined the Coast Guard, during this time he met the love of his life, Bettie Cellucci. Bettie Ann was born Dec. 6, 1931 in Portsmouth, NH. She was the only daughter of Jospeh and Justine Cellucci. Bettie’s father was in the military and was stationed in California. She often returned to NH to visit family and during one of those trips she met Jerry. Jerry and Bettie realized that they were meant to be together and married in Yuma, AZ, after being discharged from the military, the couple moved to Hardin.
Jerry was the maintenance supervisor for the Hardin School District and Bettie worked at several jobs before they purchased and managed the Three Bear’s Motel in Lincoln, MT. Bettie loved Lincoln and got to know all of her returning customers. Bettie enjoyed her flowers, birds and Beanie Baby collection and Jerry enjoyed being outside and working on projects in his shop. Jerry and Bettie were married for 60 wonderful years. He was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa and she was wonderful wife, mom and grandmother.
Bettie Ann Russell passed away Jan. 31, 2017 in Hardin and Jerry passed away on Dec. 16, 2018 in Billings.
Survivors include their son Robert J. (Rochelle) Russell; their daughters Jeri Lynn (Speed) Edwards, Julie Ann Russell and Joni Lee Kilmaschesky; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
We love you both and will always miss you so much, but we know you are in a better place and watching over all of us.
Graveside service June 8th 2019 Saturday at Hardin Fairview Cemetery. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
