JoAnn (Keeler) Potts, 75 of Hardin returned to her heavenly home on Sept. 2, 2018 after a battle with illness.
She was born to Clarence Keeler and Selina (O’Brien) Keeler in Billings on Oct. 8, 1942. She was the second of five daughters. JoAnn attended the Mission School in St. Xavier and graduated from Hardin High School. A lifelong resident of Big Horn County, JoAnn met and married Dennis Potts. Together they had three boys, Harold James, Dennis (Denny) Duane, Jr. and Jason Thomas. JoAnn was heavily involved in her boys’ young life, especially wrestling. She served as a longtime secretary to the AAU Wrestling Club and many of the boys could be found at her house before and after meets.
JoAnn was an avid reader, and always had a book with her. She loved to be outside gardening, especially tending to her roses. She enjoyed camping with her family, and on several occasions, brought numerous animals including baby rabbits, cats and dogs with her. Her home was filled with dogs, cats and other pets. Family was important to JoAnn, and she was always very involved in planning family dinners, birthday parties and holidays.
Her parents, Clarence and Selina son Harold and sisters Patricia (Patsy) and Marjorie (Margie) preceded JoAnn in death. Survivors include her sons, Denny (Veronica) and Jason (Sonya); her grandkids, Angela and Kaila; great-grand kids Derrek, Connor and Macarria; her sisters Theresa and Betty; numerous nieces and nephews and all of her wrestling “boys.”
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, Sept. 7th at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited in her honor at 7:00 pm on Thursday at Bullis Funeral Chapel. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
