Jolyn Rose Pretty Man

Our beloved mother, sister, aunt, niece and friend and companion Jolyn Rose Pretty Man went home to be with our Lord and Savior on June 23, 2020.  Jolyn also known as “JoJo” was born on October 5, 1987 in Crow Agency, Montana to Anita He Does It. Her Indian name Arrowhead Woman was given to her by her uncle, Sarge He Does It.  Jolyn was raised by her grandparents, Benny and Rosalie (Greybull) Hill who she loved dearly.  Jolyn was a descendent of Chief Greybull and belonged to the Big Lodge Clan and was child of the Whistling Water.

Jolyn grew up in the No Water and Lodge Grass area where she was always with her siblings; Roselyn, Chezrae, Hope, LaShon and Miah. Riding bikes, playing in the yard and adventuring around together were a few of the things they loved to do.  She was a member of both the Catholic and Pentecostal churches, in which she usually attended with her Grandma Rosie.  She was a regular attendee of Our Lady of Loretto Church and developed a close bond with Father Jim Antione. JoJo began her education in Lodge Grass from Head Start to the 6th grade.  During her time as a 6th grader, she participated on the cheerleading squad.  She moved to Hardin where she continued her education in the middle school and high school. She was a member of the Hardin Middle School and Hardin High School choir. She received her GED and continued her education at Little Big Horn College.  While at LBHC, she completed an internship with the Crow Nation Recovery Center.  She was very proud of this accomplishment.   In her course of life, JoJo had many struggles and barriers that ended up taking her to Set Free in Riverton, Wyoming. Set Free Ministries strengthened her walk with the Lord.  She enjoyed spending time immersed in her Bible.  Jolyn was a homemaker, who took great pride in her children.  The close bond she had with her siblings carried through to her nieces and nephews as well.  Anywhere she went she was always packing around kids and didn’t mind taking on even more kids.  She was a talented cook who had a vast recipe file and seldom repeated a meal. She acquired her recipes from her elders and friends and added her own touches to make them uniquely hers. Her meals were delicious, and everyone loved her cooking. We all wish we had written down her recipes.
