Josiah Yellowtail, ‘Baáchette Eushush bita aganashé’ (He that rides the buckskin horse), age 37, of Crow Agency, Montana went home to be with the Lord, while surrounded by family, on September 19, 2019 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings, Montana.
Josiah was born July 1, 1982 in Sheridan, Wyoming, a son of Larry and Patsy Yellowtail. He grew up in the Black Lodge area and attended Hardin High school. He graduated in 2002. While attending high school, he played basketball and wore #42 for the Bulldogs. One of his proudest moments was in 2001 when the Bulldogs went to State. They made it to the Championship, but fell short and took second place. His dad was his number one fan. He was always fighting the refs, almost getting himself kicked out of many games. Josiah worked for Summer Youth, AML, Laurel Oil Refinery, Sarpy, and the Roads Department. He was a member of Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of the Hardin Branch. He was Greasy Mouth and Ties the Bundle Child. He enjoyed watching his kids play sports. Last year, he did the best he could to watch both his daughter’s play basketball. Shakisha played for the Indians and JaShya played for the Bulldogs. He enjoyed playing basketball, cruising with his friends and joking around.
