Nichole Costa

Nichole Rose “Coco” Costa of Lame Deer passed on December 27, 2019, at St. Vincent’s Healthcare. She was born on April 22, 1997, to Victor Costa Sr. and Rebecca American Horse. Nichole was a child of The Ties the Bundle Clan. She received her early education at Crow Agency, St. Labre and graduated middle school at Pretty Eagle Catholic Academy. She then attended high school at Lame Deer, Lodge Grass and Northern Cheyenne Tribal School. After becoming a mother, she began working on earning her high school equivalency.  

Growing up she enjoyed swimming and being at family gatherings. Her interests in the outdoors included fishing and camping with family and friends. She made it to every Crow Fair to camp with her relatives and friends. Nichole’s hobbies included beading and making headbands for her family. Above her hobbies and interests, she enjoyed and loved being a full-time mother to her daughter Alayziah Limberhand.

She is survived by her daughter Alayziah Limberhand.  Her best friend Isaiah Limberhand;  her parents Victor Costa, Sr. and Rebecca American Horse; her brothers  Victor Costa Jr., Tristan Sr., Jay, Tres Sr., Johnny (Jennifer), Bryan, Neil and Ted Costa; her sisters Amber (Trucke), TyLynn (Jesse) Old Crow, Taneisha (JC) Pretty Paint, Mya, Trenay (Seth) Spotted Horse, Deeka, Teesa Lefthand, Audrey Costa,Thelma Costa, Roshanda Redcherries, Aaliyah Whiteman, Rose and Raziriah Redstar.; her grandparents Janet Costa, Jennifer (Lawrence) Flat Lip, Iva Shane, Carlotta Half, Naomi, Jocelyn, Andrea Kay Costa and Jessica (Steve) Yupuncich, Sampson (Eva) Birdinground, Calvin Birdinground, Greg (Dorcella) Half; her uncles Garret Sr., Ralph Costa, Ezekiel “Spurs”, Arnold “Boots” Coyote Runs, Eric (Casey) Birdinground, Sr., Spike (Amanda) Birdinground, Eric Plain Bull, Jethro (Rose) Deibert, Tink Kobielusz, Christopher, Matthew, Scott Flat Lip, Ashley Garner, Dornie American Horse, Daniel (Azuri) Texas, Sheldon, Walter and Floyd American Horse and  Cooliage KillsOnTop; her aunts TonyAnn (Jon) Bell, Lisa (Tody) Lefthand, Lawryn Flat Lip, Gina (Alex) Reed, Karen (Dana) Goes Ahead, Olivia Plain Bull, Katie Campbell, Louisa Kobielusz , Lenaya Costa and Carma (John) Chavez. Her extended families include Birdinground, Other Medicine, Medicine Elk, Rapos, Lighting, Shane, Real Bird, Moccasin, Lincoln, Bull Weasel, Fire Bear, Nomee, Roundface, Bear Cloud, Moccasin, Little Light, Bull Horse, Big Lake, American Horse, Kinzel, Harris, Ridge Bear, Redbird, Tallbull, Killsnight and Whiteman. She is also a descendant of Chief Pretty Eagle and Chief American Horse. The family would like to send a special thank you to St. Vincent’s Healthcare, Advanced Care Hospital and Awe Kualawaache Care Center that took good care of Nichole. Our family is very large if we have missed you please accept our apology in our time of grief. 

Wake services will be held 7:00 pm Wednesday in the Lame Deer Baptist Church. Services will be held 11:00 am in the Church with interment to follow in the Allison Bixby Cemetery. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
