Nishan House

Nishan Lehi House went to the Other Side Camp  on September 3, 2021.  He was born August 23, 2001 to the late Nephi House and Heather Robinson in Hardin, Montana.  He was given his Apsaalooke name Lhchiilikáash Chiiláap Daaakúsh) (Bull Elk Calf)  by his grandfather, the late George “Sonny Joe” Reed, Jr. From the age of two, he was raised by Tina and the late Dean Pretty on Top. Other family members who helped raise him were  Sunny (Wade) Gardner and Andrew Round Face. 

 Nishan grew up in the Hardin/Black Lodge area.  He began participating in cultural events with his father, Dean and great grandfather “Sonny Joe” at a young age.  He  loved dancing Crow style and was a grass dancer. Nishan took  part in peyote meetings.  He was a natural born artist and also an avid skateboarder.  He loved being in the outdoors whether it was fishing, hunting, hiking or skateboarding.  Nishan attended school in Hardin and participated in cross country and basketball.  He graduated from Hardin High School in May of 2019. While in high school, Nishan attended the Montana youth Challenge Academy in Dillon, MT and graduated from the program in June 2019.  He was currently enrolled at Little Big Horn College and during the summer months was a firefighter. Nishan was so loved by his large family and he especially loved his nieces.  Aubriella and Aunalise were his whole world.  Nishan was the best brother, son, uncle, grandson and friend. 

Nishan is proceeded in death by his fathers Nephi House and Dean Pretty on Top; his great grandfather George “Sonny Joe” Reed, Jr., great grandmother Phyllis Jefferson Wellknown and Marietha House; great great grandparents Marie Wallace, Franklin and Mae House; grandfathers Morris Big Lake, Lawrence B. Big Hair, Jr.  and Richard Noah House and grandmother Marlene Medicine Horse; his aunties Skyla House, Sheenah Wallace .

He is survived by his mothers Tina Pretty on Top, Heather (Curtis) Rides Horse, Jr and Sunny (Wade) Gardner and father Andrew Round Face; siblings Tatum Pretty on Top, Keen Whitewolf, Nechia Love House, Landen Real Bird, Curtis Rides Horse III, StarryKnight Round Face, Julian Nomee, Kaylor Robinson, Jaivonna, Iimy and Zaiah Rides Horse and Dionte Grant; his nieces Aubriella and Aunalise Whitewolf; his nephew Warrior Pretty Weasel; grandparents David and Ruby Peterson, Cecelia Big Lake, Twila House, Loettal Wallace, Kim Brown, Harold Pretty Weasel, John House and Curtis (Samantha) Rides Horse, Sr.; great grandparents Edith Reed and Bruce and Agatha House; his auntie/moms Keishia Big Lake, Adena, Rheannon, Clemadeen and Jonetta; his uncles Henry (Alfretta) Reed, Mike Pretty Weasel, Travis Delp and Peter (Andrea) Big Hair and his girlfriend LeAnda Not Afraid. Nishan comes from the Half, Reed, Robinson, House, Rides Horse, Wallace, Wellknown, LongTail, Good Horse, Dawes and Big Man families. Nishan was very outgoing and had many friends Aubrey Black Eagle, Tayshawn Silk, Anton Rides Horse, Josh Keo, Kevin Laden, Tristan Castro, Tyler Burns, Tymer Big Lake, Alden Buck Elk, Clarence Little Wolf, Sargent Finley and the 2019 graduating class of the  Montana Youth Challenge. His extended family includes the Jackson, Dancing Bull, Lone Bear, Hall, Fredricks, Smith, Myers, Old Mouse, Red Cherries, Zotti, Deer Nose, Fog in the Morning, Ten Bear, Montgomery, White Bear, Pease, Adams, Two Leggins, Pretty Paint,  Singer and Wicker.  We are sorry if we missed you during our time of grief.

Funeral services will be Thursday September 9, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Bullis Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at the Hardin Fairview Cemetery. Bullis Mortuary is entrusted with the arrangements.
