Robin Brian Little Light, Sr. of Garryowen, Montana 51, passed away March 4, 2019 at the St. Vincent’s Hospital in Billings, Montana surrounded by his friends and loved ones. His Crow name, Kualiishiish, (Camps in the Middle) was given to him by his grandfather, Richard Little Light.
Robin was born March 25, 1967 in Crow Agency. He is the son of Ronald and Dorcella Pretty On Top- Little Light, Sr. Robin grew up in Wyola with his grandparents Richard and Mildred Crooked Arm Little Light. He graduated from Lodge Grass High School in 1985. Robin enrolled at the United Tribes Technical College in Bismark, North Dakota, where he received his certification in Carpentry.
Robin married Angie Turnsplenty on April 11, 2007. The couple made their home in Billings then moved to Garryowen. Robin was an accomplished carpenter who had numerous professional talents such as; installing furnaces, cooling systems and flooring, as well as plumbing skills. Using his expertise, Robin constructed numerous buildings for the local community and family members.
In his younger years, Robin enjoyed the cowboy life. He worked at area ranches with his good friend, Randy Not Afraid, who later became his brother. Hobbies he enjoyed included roping and working with horses. He also liked to enter in local jackpots and rodeos. Robin loved to play basketball, hunt and spend time with his children. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Richard “Buster” and Mildred “Mildus” Crooked Arm Little Light and Edgar and Lucy Iron Pretty On Top, his dad; uncles Andrew, Alvin, Lewis and Don Little Light; aunts Connie Little Light, Kate White Hip, Bernadine Nomee; brothers Sonny Mitchell Little Light, Barry Wall and Carl Venne, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Angie Little Light; sons Prinz “Bob” Three Irons, Buster, Robin, Jr., Tyrell (Micha) Little Light and Elias Young Bear; daughters Ronelle Stone, Tianna (Eva), Carrie, Drew Constance, Robriya, Aminna and Tarinia Little Light; his mother Dorcella Pretty OnTop-Little Light; his aunts Annabelle (Art), Carol (Sargie) Howe, LaVaune Fitzpatrick, Drew Ann (Johnny) Little Light-Stewart, Patricia (Stevie) White Hip, Edwina Little Light, Corliss(Clinton) Iron, Sophia Left Hand, Pamela(William) Backbone, Rebecca (Mervin) White, Valencia Crooked Arm, Carla(Ervin) Jefferson, Sandra(Preston) Grant, Mary (Gale) Three Irons; adopted mother Laura Real Bird; uncles Clyde( Nellie) Little Light, Burton (Randeen) Pretty On Top, Brad (Loretta), Myron (Laureen) Crooked Arm and Norris (Shirley) Davies; brothers Ronald “Homer” Little Light, Jr, Richard Jess Real Bird, Jr., Daryl (Kim) Three Irons, Sr., Darren, Everette (Janece) Howe, Donald (Kelsey) Stewart, Clement Nomee, Scott (Lauren) Medicine Horse, Emery and Frazer White Hip, Rocky Little Light, Randy (Valyn) Not Afraid, Harold Rides Horse, Clyde Pretty Paint, Hartford (Angie) Bearclaw and Bradford Black Eagle; sisters Terri Little Light, Berdina (Bill) Stops, Dy Anna (Shawn), Lori Three Irons, April(Mike) He Crow, Mallory Venne, Clarissa Little Light, Ramona (Bear) Blacksmith, Mary (Elden) Not Afraid, Alviline (Joseph) Bull Tail, Margaret Little Light, Janice (Thomas) Morning, Mary(Henry) Little Light, Laura (Manford) Gardner; grandfathers Ed Little Light, Jr., Frances Bear Claw and Cornelious Little Light; grandmothers Elizabeth and Lena Little Light, Locia Other Medicine, Audrey Deputee, Jeanie Alden and Lana Burleson; grandchildren Rory, Prinz Sean, Jr., Ammara Three Irons, Jailyn Little Light, LaZayne, Jesse Stone and Teresa Little Light.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nursing staff at St Vincent Hospital, the Presbyterian St. Luke Transplant Team along with Dr. Heffron and Dr. Kullig who were a part of the transplant team as well as the hospice staff for caring for our loved one in his time of need.
Funeral Service will be Friday, March 8that 11:00 AM at the Spirit of Life Foursquare Church in Crow Agency. Burial to follow at the Lodge Grass Cemetery. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
