Sharon Bear Don’t Walk went to be with her loved ones in Heaven on July 26, 2019 in Billings. She was born December 14, 1966 in Sheridan, Wyoming to Oliver Ray and Clara May (Hill) Bear Don’t Walk, Jr. Her second Indian name “She Sings Many Songs of Victory” was given to her by the late Ada White. She was a member of the Greasy Mouth Clan and a Ties the Bundle child.
Sharon was always helping those in need and you never saw her without a smile on her face. She was known as a great teaser and brought smiles to all who knew her. She never let anyone walk away without saying “I love you”. She loved her family especially the little ones.
She attended St. Xavier Mission School through the second grade and then went to Lodge Grass where she graduated in 1986. She attended Little Big Horn College and graduated with an AA in Building Trades. She worked more than 20 years for the Crow Tribe as an executive security officer.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother Dewey Raymond Bear Don’t Walk, Sr.; her life partner Ada White and her nephew Christopher Matthew Bear Don’t Walk.
Sharon is survived by her brother Oliver Bear Don’t Walk, III; her sister Rosalla Bear Don’t Walk; her adopted sister Luanna (Marvin) Stewart; her adopted brothers Hugh John Blacksmith, Larry Kindness and Anthony (Alma) Davis; her clan mother Darreldlene Old Crow who she affectionately called Mama. She claimed all her nieces and nephews as her own; Olivia Dawn, Dewey Brandon, Randy Jon, Yelena Cher (Manuel) Bright Wings, Adrian Lloyd, Shararose Joelle (Armando Puente), Tania Rae (Kenny Grady), Oliver John, IV, Christina Colette, Desiree Lynn, Precious Mae and Tena Faith; her grandbabies Daién Dewey-Francis, Tyan Joseph Cole, Ariella Grace Neuman, Hayden Riley, Manuel Zion Bright Wings Jr., Hayley Quinn, Joshua Arturo Hunter Bright Wings, Maude Bright Wings, Adriel, Maddox, Jaxon Bear Don’t Walk, Marley and McKinley Grady, McKinzley and Mireya Amyotte, Anderson and Naomi Bear Don’t Walk. Her extended family includes the Driftwood, Bad Horse, Knows Gun, Smart Enemy, Fights Well Known, Little Nest, Bull Chief, Carpenter, Horn, Old Coyote, Whiteman, Deputee, Wallace, Crooked Arm, Hill, Big Hair, Rides Horse, Howe, Not Afraid, Little Light, Grey Bull, Davis, Brown, Fighter, Spint, Old Bear, Five, Spotted, Mountain Pocket, Dust, Bloodman, Left Hand, Covers Up, Old Horn, Nomee, Laforge, Old Rabbit, Hawks, Burns, Old Bear and Coffee. Our family is large and Sharon acknowledged many friends as family and there are just too many to name.
Services will be held Tuesday July 30th at 2:00 pm at the Spirit of Life Foursquare Church in Crow Agency with private inurnment to follow. Bullis Mortuary is entrusted with the arrangements.
