Donna Gardner

Donna Marie Nadeau-Gardner, Sahiawia (Cree Woman) a name given to her by her late mother in-law Pricilla Stewart-Gardner, 63, of Rolla, North Dakota passed away on Friday September 6, 2019 at the Crow IHS hospital.
She was raised in Dunseith, North Dakota and was the tenth child of 17 siblings. She attended schools in Flandreau, North Dakota, Mile City Community College, and Eastern Montana College. In 1970, she met the love of her life Thomas Gardner. Tommy and Donna were happily married for 49 years. Soon after her marriage, at the age of 16, she moved to the Crow Indian Reservation where she settled with the Crow people within the Black Lodge District. Donna has been a life long resident amongst the Crow since her marriage to Tommy. Donna was employed by the Crow Head Start Program, 17-H Hardin School District, Hogie Store in Seattle Washington, Ammiishiiwuua (Laundromat), GEO’s Grocery Store and Albertstene’s.
Throughout her life she became a devout house wife and made her home in Black Lodge, “Turtle Ranch”. Donna lived for so long amongst her husbands family, they welcomed her into the Pretty Eagle Family. She loved to attend family functions, cook food and prepare dishes of her expertise. Foremost, her most favorite hobbies were to go out to dine at quality restaurants and watch movies.
Donna is proceeded in death by her son William (Billy Jon) Gardner; parents John Elda Poirtra-Nadeau; brothers Johnny, Richard and Bobby Amyotte, Gary, Russell Bruce, Dale and Wayne Nadeau; sisters Cerela Azure, baby twin Nadeau; siblings and mother in law Pricilla Stewart-Gardner.
Survivors include her husband Thomas Gardner; daughters Crystal, Nellie and Pricilla Magdalynn Gardner; brothers Leroy and Ronnie Nadeau; sisters Fern, Elaine and Gail Nadeau; grand children Lanaya, Malayshia, Bowen, Tyler, Gabriel, Billy and Sissy; adopted children Sam (Patricia) Pickett, Leah (Mike) Hill and Heidi (David) Bara; her Crow families; all the children and decedents of the late Frank and Margaret Spotted Horse-Stewart, Vernon and Fannie Stewart-Whiteclay and all of the decedents of the Pretty Eagle Family. Funeral Service is Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Bullis Funeral Chapel in Hardin, Montana. Burial to follow at the Hardin Fairview Cemetery. Bullis Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
