In Loving Memory Ramona Nomee Backbone

Ramona I. Nomee Backbone, also known as Tiny, 85 of Lodge Grass, passed away at Big Horn County Memorial Hospital July 24, 2017.
Balaahisshish (Gold Coin) was her Indian name give to her by her grandfather Bull Weasel.
Tiny was born May 16, 1932, in Pryor, MT, a daughter of Paul and Gretchen Bull Weasel Nomee Sr. She was raised in Pryor and went to school at Pryor Public School. She enjoyed beading and was a seamstress. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church and the Tobacco Society, Ties the Bundle Clan and Greasy Mouth Child.
Ramona married Harold Back Bone Sr. in 1951. The couple made their home in Lodge Grass, MT.
Her parents Gretchen and Paul Nomee Sr., Tobacco Society parents Alex and Mary Plain Feather, Husband Harold Back Bone, Sr., brother’s Carlton Sr., Paul Jr., John, Lewellyn Nomee and Arnold Coyote Runs, and sister Daisy Bright Wings preceded Ramona in death.
Survivors include her children, Haroldine Takes Gun, Harold(Debbie) Back Bone, Elton(Janet) Back Bone, Elroy(Kitty) Nomee, grandson whom she raised Lamar Back Bone, adopted daughter, Samantha(Larry) Black Eagle, adopted sons Clement Nomee and Gray Gardner, sisters Marjorie(Sam) Hoops, Josie(Ben)Stands, Veronica(Brewster) Pretty On Top, Bonnie Hawk, Ardith Hogan, Mary Lou(Heywood)Big Day, Barbara Lee Comes Up, Claudette, Dorma, Elna and Ferrol Black Hawk, Bertha and Denise Nomee, Brothers, Robert Nomee, Chester(Sharolyn) Nomee, Gale(Mary) Three Irons, Vince Black Hawk, Bruce White Sr., and Kenny St. Mark, and adopted brother Benito Brown. Tobacco Society brother and sisters Roland and Danny Plain Feather and Ruby and Judy Plain Feather. Grandchildren, Lyle, JD and Bridget Takes Gun, Candace Wyles, Lashon and McKinley Back Bone, Mike, Robert, Cherish, Gretchen and Joshua Nomee, Larin, Cameron, Kallie Black Eagle, Haley, Kori, Sissy, Drew and John Nomee as well as 40 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her extended family including the Nomee’s, Bull Chiefs, Hawks, White’s, Black Hawk, Big Day’s and the Nomee’s family of Cour D’Lene ID, and Noults, St. Mark, Mitchell’s , Belcourt and Parker family of Rocky Boy.
