21 Dust, Linda Obit
Linda Louise (Anderson) Dust passed away on October 8, 2021 in Billings, Montana. She was born July 15, 1948 to Arthur Adam and Ruth (Other Bull) Anderson. Her Indian name Ashe Isee (Sundance Lodge) was given to her by the late Joe Hill. Linda was a member of the Big Lodge Clan and a Child of Ties The Bundle. She was raised in the Crow Agency Black Lodge area. She attended elementary school at Crow Agency.
Linda loved to gamble it didn’t matter if it was Bingo or at the Casino and she even bet on Hand-games. She won high point woman a couple of times at the Hand-game Tournaments. On July 24, 1967, she married Dallas Dust, Sr. and to this union five children were born. Linda attended Cosmetology School in Billings in 1987 and then in 1989 enrolled in the Small Business Program at Little Big Horn College. Linda owned and operated her own beauty salon in Hardin and Crow Agency. She also was employed as a Home Health Care Aide. Linda traveled to be in attendance at every grandchild’s birth. Family was everything to Linda and she was the Rock that held the family together.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Dust, Sr.; her son Ronald Dean Anderson and her parents Adam and Ruth Anderson; her sisters Margaret Leider, Elizabeth Anderson, Erma, Laberta and Alda Stewart, Izebella Other Bull, Louise Marie Jefferson, Ruth Alden and Donna Pretty on Top; her brothers Ronnie Anderson, Alonzo Jim Other Bull, Iron Joe and Woodrow Stewart, Aron Vine Horse Stewart; her aunt Daisy Leider; her nieces Rhonda Anderson and Baby Girl Ronette Anderson, Marlene Other Bull and nephews Ricky and Byron Other Bull.
She is survived by her children William, Martha, Dallas Jr., Della and Mandi Dust, Ralph Brown, Jr., Carmelia Brown, Orrin (Evelyn) and Rebecca Anderson; her adopted children Rebecca Stops, Raynard Other Bull, Vince Black Hawk, Steve Tsinnie, Courtney Stewart, Lancing (Renee) Crooked Arm and Frank Knows Gun (Lilbit), her grandchildren who she raised as her own Percelia Buffalo Bull Tail, Ralph Brown, III, Omrianna Anderson, Erik Dust, Jordan and Kyonna Carr; her 34 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; her siblings Lana Burlison, Rose Alden, Maudine Stewart, Violet Wolf Black, Wilma Laforge, Glenda Morrison, Ann Costa, Willie Stewart, Henry Charles Jefferson, Dennis Bull Tail, Joe (Rachel) Wallace, Kathy Leider, Betty Jo Horse-Morrison, Valerie (Lloyd) Hogan, Thomasine BirdinGround, Clara Joe, Buster Lieder, Harriett Leider, her very special friends Glenda Morrison, Shirley Ferderer, Ann Costa and Clara Joe. Her extended family includes the Anderson, Other Bull, Leider, Tobacco, White Clay, Dawes, White Fox, Froze, Takes Horse, Wilkinson and Deer Nose. Our family is large, please accept our apology if we have not mentioned you in our time of grief. Linda loved all of you so very much.
Services will be held Thursday October 14, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Black Lodge Church with burial to follow at the Anderson Family Cemetery in Black Lodge. Bullis Mortuary is entrusted with the arrangements.
