AlanDon Decrane, AlanDon "AD" DeCrane 18, of Dunmore Montana made Heaven his home on December 26, 2021. He was born on March 11, 2003 to Natashia (Mikal) Crooked Arm and James (JC) DeCrane in Hardin, Montana. He was a member of the Ties the Bundle and a child of the Ties the Bundle Clan. His Indian name was Awakaawe Kuush Chiwakiileesh (Goes to the Mountain and Prays) given to him by the late Charles DeCrane. He was a lifetime member of the El Shaddai Worship Center in Wyola, Montana. He was affectionately known as AD.
AD attended grade school at the Crow Agency Public School graduated from the 8th grade at Lodge Grass Jr. High School. He attended Plenty Coups High School from the 9th to 11th grade. He wanted to go to school in Pryor because that was where his dad graduated from. He would have graduated with the class of 2022.
During his elementary school years, he played basketball for the late Blaine Real Bird's team called the "Mustangs". He fell in love with the game and that was where the "Apsaalooke Warriors were created with this team he had players that were a constant Michael, Dewey and Island Little Coyote never said no to AD to play on his team as well as many others. He traveled to many places including Idaho, Utah and Oregon to play Basketball. Because of his love for basketball his parents did everything to keep him playing. Through basketball, AD made many friends throughout the western states and Indian Country. He and his teammates received many medals. AD had a natural talent for any sport he played, whatever it maybe he gave his all and never backed down. When he played football in Jr high his team took Championship, As well as the SEAC Championship for basketball. AD always followed through when his teammates needed him. AD wanted to play basketball with his brother Jadence Archilta for their last year of high school. This dream will not come true for AD but his brother can play and win for him. AlanDon never hesitated to grab a ball and go to the courts to shoot around with his friends where he loved to joke them out and bust some 3's. He often gave his sister Kevyana Howe pointers on her shooting and plays. He encouraged his sister to start her own team because he wanted to travel with her.
AD wanted to become a Saddle Bronc rider like his Uncle/Daddy the late Alan Don Medicine Top his name sake. He became an excellent horseman and enjoyed breaking horses. He never said no to riding horses with his bro's come rain, snow or shine you would see AD riding around town in Crow. He and his friends were featured on KTVQ riding horses in below zero temperatures. AD started riding horses at a young age and developed a love for them. His first horse was a Shetland named Carmel Candy, who he loved, he and his dad made a homemade corral outside their home in Crow and he busied himself everyday feeding and watering the horse. One day he woke up and Carmel Candy got loose and he and his friends went looking all day. Horsemanship came naturally to him it was like cowboy blood ran through his veins as if he was born to be a cowboy. When the Christian Cowboys, came to town he was there the first day signing up to ride steers and do team roping.
AD had great love for his family to him family was everything. Anytime he saw any of his Kaale's he always made sure to go and hug them and tell them he loved them. He was a jokester and would create unique funny respectable Indian names for his siblings and he would create funny nicknames for his friends, most of the times his family never knew his friends real names and called them by their nicknames. AlanDon was fun to be around always teasing and joking with whoever he was with in that moment. He always had a smile and would greet you with a handshake or a hug. He always made sure everyone was included with whatever he had going on. AD loved to bring his friends home not caring about who they were or where they came from. He always had a big heart, he would never leave anyone behind. All the young kids wanted to be around him. You could always hear someone yelling "AD, AD" he would stop and acknowledge and take them round. He always had a crew with him, never alone. He was well loved and because of the respect his friends had for him they would take care of his mom Lois, they always helped her off the car, walk into the stores or often just stop and get off their car to give her a hug telling her "love you" like they seen AD do many times.
