Ammon Lee Pretty Paint, 49, of Crow Agency, passed away April 19, 2023. He was born April 26, 1973 to Danele (Hall) and Gary Pretty Paint in Salt Lake City, Utah. His Indian name “Mountain Bird” was given to him by Robert Yellowtail. He went to school in Salt Lake and later college in Missoula, graduating from the fire-fighting program. Ammon was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Greasy Mouth Clan and was a child of the Greasy Mouth.
Ammon enjoyed a variety of activities including hiking, hunting, running, working out, singing, firefighting and flying with the Helitack Crew. He loved hanging out with his family and friends and will be greatly missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his son, Lyric Mosiah Pretty Paint; brothers, Michael and Mosiah Pretty Paint; grandparents and great-grandparents, Daniel and Josephine Hall, Perry Pretty Paint, Grace Three Irons, Victor Three Irons, Sr., Cecelia Big Sky Pretty Paint, Pera, Nancy and Marie Pretty Paint, Audrie Deputee, Loettal Wallace, Elizabeth White Fox and Women on Top of the Mountain; aunts, Geneva Other Medicine, Jaqueline Ware, Alice Bear Cloud, Nelvette (George) Seimon, Pansy Dawes and Carole Howe; uncles, Thomas Wall, Melvin (Elsie) Pretty Paint, Nelson and Sterling (Linda) Wallace, Larson Medicine Horse, Michael (Lisa) Hall, Sam Horn, Leland Walking Bear and Melvin Que Three Irons and niece, Brandi Moon.
