Arvilla Daisy Iron, known to many as Daisy, made Heaven her home on September 8, 2024 at the St. Vincent’s Clinic. Born on February 1, 1945 to Ralph and Ada (Hugs) Iron, Sr. in Crow Agency.
She was raised in both West Soap Creek and the St Xavier area on the family ranch later making her home in the Crow Agency area.
She was a member of the Pentecostal church, child of Piegan and member of the Greasy Mouth Clan. She was adopted into the Tobacco society by the Big Lake family.
She attended school at St. Xavier public school, in St. Xavier Montana. She attended Northwest Community College and Eastern Montana College before receiving her degree at United Tribe Technical College in Bismarck, North Dakota.
Professionally, she worked as a social security officer in Miles City, MT for two years. Later becoming a Realty Specialist for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and retiring after 38 years of service.
She was a strong, God fearing woman and loved listening to various gospel singers especially Jim Felix. She attended many revivals across the country with her family. Daisy was an avid horseback rider and in her younger years enjoyed helping on the family ranch, cooking for the various family brandings or helping gather cattle.
In her retirement, Daisy enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren, never missing a rodeo, a basketball game, birthday party or the birth of her many grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and spent many weekends following her grandchildren around the country to their various events. She also spent many nights enjoying old western movies.
Daisy’s most significant legacy lies in the devotion she shared to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always ended a phone expressing her love and reminding us we were in her prayers. “Love you, God bless you guys, I’ll be praying for all you guys!”

Though her physical presence may be gone, her legacy lives on in the kindness of her grandchildren and the many prayers we hold in our heart.
Auntie, mom, grandma, as she was known to many of us, you will be deeply missed, but your spirit will forever flow in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing you.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Chairman Frank Whiteclay and Rebecca Buffalo for their generous donations during our mother’s short hospital stay.
