Barry Kevin Bad Bear, Sr. 62, passed to the other side of the camp on Friday, March 24, 2026 in the Billings Clinic. Barry was born May 12, 1963, to William Herman and Georgia A. (Takes Horse) Bad Bear, Sr., in Crow Agency, MT.
His Crow name "Daxxbacha gawish" (Bad Bear) given to him by his grandfather, George Bad Bear. Barry is a member of the Whistling Water and a child of the Big Lodge clan.
Barry received his earlier schooling from Crow Public School and Northern Cheyenne Tribal School in Busby, MT. And later went to Job Corp in Anaconda, MT. He attended Little Big Horn College. Barry worked for AML for the Crow Tribe, security for Resavegas Casino and the Crow Casino and found his passion for cooking and culinary arts. He also enjoyed artwork and making jewelry. Barry enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren and loved them all along with his children.
He is preceded in death by his father, grandparents George and Olive Williamson Bad Bear; grandmother Deloris Lion Shows, grandfather Clark Takes Horse; his father William Herman; his sister Faith "Pinky" Bad Bear, Gladys B. Takes Horse; brothers William "Bugsy", Daniel Bad Bear, Al "Champ" Takes Horse, Sr., Marvin "Chico" Takes Horse, Jr., Mark Wilkinson; uncles Dicky and David Bad Bear, Marvine Takes Horse, Sr.; aunt Marjorie Bad Bear Wilkinson, Gladys Takes Horse Jefferson; son Frank Jefferson and granddaughter Hera Bear Claw and nephew Cedric Old Crow.

Our family is very large and we have many relatives; everyone was very special to him and we apologize if we have missed anyone.
