Beverly “Baby Jean” St. Germaine was born on March 16, 1942, to Eli Stops and Alvina Cummins. She grew up in the Wyola and Lodge Grass area. Beverly was raised by her grandparents Richard and Delia Cummins.
She went to visit her uncle Fred in the summer of 1958, and she met Paul St. Germaine, who in turn, followed her back to Lodge Grass. In this union, she had two girls and four boys.
She worked several jobs: Guided Crafts in Lodge Grass, The Indian Center in Billings, MT., A&S Industries in Poplar, MT. and she worked for The Little Bighorn Casino until her retirement. She loved playing bingo, going to pow-wows, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are two brothers, Freddy Stops and Joe Cummins, her daughter, Paulette, and her parents, William and Alvina Backbone, a son, BJ Backbone, a grandson, Timothy, and two sisters, Dorothy Aragon and Arleta Young.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Paul St. Germaine, one brother, Billy (Pamela) Backbone, five sons, Richard, Joey, Timothy, Christopher, and Marty (Sharon) Cummins, three daughters, Robin, Lisa, and Lola (Johnny) Castro, adopted children, Buddy and Marie Rogers, Sal and Anna Rios, Tony and Denise Rios, Victor Rios, and Linda White Clay.
Extended family include Cummins, Backbone, Friends, Eastman, Stops, Four Star, Bird Hat, Hill, McConnel, Houle, Aragon, LaRance, and Eagles from Poplar.
We would like to thank the staff at the Awe Kualawaache Care Center for caring for her during her short illness.
