Bruce Little Light, Sr Obituary

Our dad, Bruce Little Light, Sr. made his journey to the other side of the camp on March 16, 2026.  He was surrounded by those who loved him, and he gave that same love back in his own way. Bruce was born June 8, 1958, in Crow Agency, Montana to Corrine Chief Child Onion and Gerald Little Light, Sr.  He was a Greasy Mouth and he was a child of the Big Lodge.

Bruce started his education at the young age of 17, when his sisters enrolled him at Eastern Montana College.  Later, he enrolled in vocational school, where he earned his license in auto mechanics.  He was employed by Billings Gazette, Sears Auto Service, and later worked locally making a living as a mechanic.

Bruce was a bareback rider in his younger years, traveling around the rodeo circuit with his brothers, Jr., Thomas and Pete.  Bruce enjoyed reggae music, the outdoors, hunting, camping with his Hugs brothers: Leland, William, Harvey, Frank and Mark.  He also enjoyed boxing, sparring with his uncle Chet.  Bruce was very knowledgeable in the Crow traditional ways such as sweat lodge, fasting, traditional dancing, singing, making arrows and drums.  He passed down to his grandsons, Noah and Burgess.  He was humble, respectful, and protective of his family.  Bruce had a generous heart and looked out for everyone.

He leaves behind his children, family, and everyone who knew him.  We’ll remember him in our stories, our laughter, and the way we take care of each other.  He’s not gone - he just made it to the other side camp ahead of us. We love you Dad.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gerald, Jr. Little Light, Pete Onion and Shannon Other Medicine; sisters Renee, Geraldine and Gloria Little Light and Ardena Other Medicine; daughters Karina and Kristle Little Light, Nancy and Dani Rose Half; nephews Jerry Little Light, John Chief Child and Rooster Half; uncles Walter, James and John Onion, Emmett, Jenson and Chet Other Medicine, Becker Little Light, Jr.; aunts Elizabeth Hugs, Audrey Deputee, Dorinda Westbrook and Renee Malandrez; grandparets Peter Chief Child, Chester Other Medicine, Lucy Yarlott, Becker Little Light, Sr. and Nancy Pretty Paint.
