Carol Lautt Obituary

Carol Jane Lautt was born January 1, 1950, to Ted and Lorraine Lautt in Hardin, MT, and lost her fight June 21, 2026, in Billings, MT.

She grew up in Hardin and graduated from Hardin High School in 1968. Everyone knew Carol from her 41 years of service at the Purple Cow. She loved meeting people and making friends from all over while working there.  Later, she worked at Bighorn Memorial Hospital until her retirement, where she found great joy in caring for others.

Carol had many nieces and nephews that she grew up with and loved unconditionally. Scott, Linda, Vicky, Laurie, Tina, Jon, Jodi, Julie, Abby, and Sara all held a special place in her heart. Family trips together were always a special trip, Vicki and her would load up the kids and head out. She loved visiting them, hosting them at her house, or simply receiving phone calls to hear updates about their lives. Carol had a large family and loved hosting them, whether serving traditional German food, a hearty breakfast after a long night, or Indian tacos whenever everyone came home to Hardin.

In 1986, the love of her life was born, her son, Trevor. Carol was incredibly proud of Trevor. She dedicated her time to following his baseball games, shuttling him to the golf course, and taking trips to Denver to spend time with family.

Carol’s brightest lights were her grandchildren, Kemma and Barrett. Playing games, going to sporting events, and having sleepovers always made her day.  She would talk to them almost everyday with a phone call, drive by the house to chat or cook dinner at her house.  She found so much joy watching them  grow up.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Lorraine Lautt; her brothers, Gilbert and Gary Lautt; sister-in-law, Vicki Lautt; her nephew, Scott Miller; and her great-nephew, Tucker Sinks.

Carol left many people who loved her greatly: her son, Trevor (Amanda); grandchildren, Kemma and Barrett Lautt; her sister, Jeannie Miller; nieces, Linda (Chris) Garrison, Vicky (Steve) O’Neil, and Laurie Miller; her sister-in-law, Laurie Lautt; nieces, Abby (Nick) Zito and Sara (Skeeter) Redding; nephew, Jon (Terri) Lautt; and nieces, Tina (Julien) Lautt, Julie (Chuck) Ball, and Jodi (Sam) Adams. She had many great-nieces and nephews that she loved so much as well. Carol leaves behind some very close friends: Diane Kunz, Becky Anderson, Sharla Bastrom, Ana Rios, and many more.
