Caroline Reile Renz

Caroline S. Reile-Renz longtime Hardin resident passed away October 8, 2023 at the Big Horn County Hospital.

Caroline was born Aug. 19, 1939 to Reuben and Margaret Reile in Hardin MT. She was the oldest of 6 children.  Caroline was educated in Hardin and attended college in Missoula Mt. She worked many jobs locally in the Hardin area, finally moving to Ft. Collins Co in 1968. There she went to work for Dr. Richard Penfold managing his medical practice. Caroline was also the President of the Colorado Medical Assistants during this time. When she left the medical practice, she worked for BCBS for many years before retiring in 1999.

Caroline was married to Arlie Renz on December 16, 1996 in Ft. Collins. Caroline and Arlie moved back to Hardin in 1999. She didn’t stay retired too long before purchasing and running the Lariat Country Kitchen restaurant for several years. Caroline finally decided to retire for good in 2008.

She was a faithful member of Saints Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters Society.  Caroline enjoyed cooking, fishing, playing cards and socializing.

Survivors include her son Don (Donna) granddaughters Lisa (Eric) and Jennifer (Zach) Great grandchildren Trey, Kayla, Brynn, Remy, Quinn and Carter. Her sister Rose (Bud) Harder and a brother Mike Reile (Donna), numerous nieces and nephews and her dear friends Jim and Sue Seykora.

She is preceded in death by her parents Margaret and Reuben, sisters Audrey and Beth and Marian and nephew John Harder.
