Connor Angus Murdock, 27, of Lodge Grass, MT, passed away on October 25, 2025. Born on August 13, 1998, in Sheridan, WY, Connor was the beloved Son of Kent and Stephani (Greenfield) Murdock. He grew up in Lodge Grass, Montana, where his love for agriculture began. He just recently bought his first herd of cows. He learned to drive, do maintenance on tractors, chase cows and fix fences at a young age, it didn’t take long for him to become dad’s top hand and shadow. He was always the first call for the girls and mom if anything was broken or stuck, so they didn’t get the wrath of the boss. He grew up with three sisters, who taught him how to stick up for himself, but also had a strong sense of loyalty for them. He spent most of his free time working on the farm, hanging out with friends and family. Connor attended Montana Tech in Butte, Montana and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering. He continued his love for football and was on the Montana Tech Orediggers football team and that’s where he made many lifelong friends. After graduating from Tech, he started his first engineering job at Westmoreland Mine in Colstrip, Montana and had recently started a new job at CHS Refinery in Laurel, Montana.
Connor was known for too many things to count, but his sarcastic humor, the ability to talk any ones ear off, and never giving up on anything if he had his mind set to it, were his most notable qualities. He found great joy in hanging out with friends and family, farming, ranching and talking smack. He always let his little sister Katie, tag along and even got to the point he preferred it. Always getting a kick out of torturing Ben and Sadie (in the best way possible) and stealing all of their fruit rollups out of the snack drawer. His mom, Stephani, was another one he picked on, but was always the first person to answer her call. He loved his family.
Connor is survived by his parents Kent and Stephani Murdock, his siblings Hillary Nystrom (Kaleb Nystrom), Paige Butkay (Levi Butkay) and Katie Murdock (Ethan Frasier); nieces and nephews Bentley Butkay, Sadie Butkay, Lucy Butkay, and McCoy Butkay; grandparents Thomas Rodger Greenfield, Judith Ann Murdock and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his Grandpa, Wayne A. Murdock and Grandma, Judith Evelyn Greenfield. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
A funeral/celebration of life will be held on November 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at First Crow Indian Baptist Church in Lodge Grass, MT. Burial will follow at Lodge Grass Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to attend and share memories.
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
