Curtis Joseph Little Light, 62, passed to the other side of the camp on Monday, November 11, 2024. He was born July 16, 1962 to Edmund and Josephine (Hill) Little Light Jr. in Sheridan, Wyoming. He was a Greasy Mouth and Child of Ties The Bundle. Curtis was a proud and devoted member of The New Life Church and part of the River Crow band.
He grew up in the Hardin area, at Sawyer Loop. Curtis attended schools in Hardin. His life long passions were horses. He became an expert horseman and was known for this ability to train race horses. Because of this he was known throughout the horse race circuit.
Curtis enjoyed horse racing, reading, gambling, handgames, going in sweats and traditional ceremonies. He was adopted into the Tobacco Society by Jaqualine Ware and family.
He married his wife of 44 years, Wanda (Walks Nice) Little Light on February 28, 1980 in Crow Agency, Montana. Through this union they have four children: Tiffany (James) Demontiney, Kyle (Tiffany) Little Light, Tex Little Light, and Samantha Plain Feather, and his Baby the Late Whitney Little Light, fifteen
grandchildren Alyssa, Cassidy, Jamison, Jaycee, Tuff, Chloe, James III, Harper Demontiney, Joseph, Andrew, Kyle Jr., Brandon, Kyleigh, Whitley, and Genesis Little Light.
Curtis really enjoyed attending and watching his grandkids participate in their sport events and activities. It was his favorite thing to do and was always anxious when sport season came around.
Curtis is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Whitney, three grandkids Otis, Hayzen, and Baby Boy Little Light, brothers Don Little Light, Dennis Little Light, Lewis Little Light, Emmett Little Light, and Allen Little Light, sisters Pauline Smells and Patricia Little Light, nephews Carl Venne Jr. and Stevan Little Light, and niece April Kim He Crow.
He is survived by his wife, kids, and grandkids, his siblings Edwina, Yvon (Renee) Little Light, David (Ruby) Peterson, and Clyde Little Light, sisters Birdena Real Bird, Lovey (William) Backbone, Carla Crooked Arm, Rebecca (Mervin) White, Valencia Crooked Arm, Lavaune Fitzpatrick, Drew Ann Little Light, Corliss (Clinton) Iron, Rosella Bear Don’t Walk, Linda (Dewayne) Birdinground, Alvielene Little Light, Elaine and Vera Brien, Celeste Tobacco, Vianna Stewart, Victoria Falls Down, Minerva Tucker, Kathleeen Whiteclay, Teresa Brien, and Clarissa Ball, brothers Hartford (Angie) Bear Claw, Dean (Mona) Bear Claw, Johnny (Becky) Five, Dale Five, Bradford (Loretta) Crooked Arm, Myron (Loreena) Crooked Arm, Cornelius (Susie) Little Light Jr., Myron (Ivy) Little Light, Shobe and Orland Little Light, Simpson Little Light, Noris Davies, Grover Deputee, Leonard Little Light, Frank Hugs, and Leland Hugs, uncles Cornelius Little Light Sr., Cyrus (Annie) Leider, Eugene (Rochelle) Deputee, Kenneth (Nancy) Deputee, Gary Big Hair, Dennis (Nora) Big Hair, and Lawrence Big Hair, aunts Lena Little Light, Ella Beth Little Light, Lois Ann Crooked Arm, Charlene and Margaret Brown, Roberta Henman, Ava (Carlson) Bellrock, Linda (Tommy) Little Owl, Marla Little Light, and Karen Little Light, and special friend, Beverly Big Man and all his Meals on Wheels family.
Extended Families include Well Known, Old Coyote, Crooked Arm, Big Hair, Comes Up, and Brown.
