Funeral services Friday January 21, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Bullis Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at the Crow Agency Cemetery.

Obituary

Darwin Greg Dawes, 59, of Hardin Mt. passed away January 15th, 2022, from natural causes.


Greg, as he was known, was born October 21st, 1963, to Lloyd & Shirley Ten Bear Dawes. He was a member of the Greasy Mouth Clan and a child of the Big Lodge and a direct descendant of Chief Two Leggins, Big Ox, Charles Ten Bear and Austin Stray Calf


As a young boy, Greg enjoyed gathering firewood with his Grandpa Joe Ten Bear and several times he would go on hunting & camping trips with Tyrone and his boys. He mostly enjoyed all outdoor activities including fishing, hunting and horseback riding. Greg was not specifically a member of any church affiliation but was known to always pray. He consider the outdoors as his church and a place to pray.


Greg graduated from St. Labre Catholic High School in May 1982 and later attended art school in Alburquerque, New Mexico. After completing his studies, he returned to the Two Leggins area where he resided until his death. Greg married Connie Wallace, who later preceded him in death.


Survivors include his daughters Jessica Dawes Larsen of Utah, Chaslyn Dawes of Washington & Darwina Dawes of Wyoming; brothers Marvin (Glenda), Byron (Nadine), Claude (Berna), Lewellyn (Maureen), Larson & Max Dawes, Victor & Clyde Pretty Paint, Porgy (Gloria), Lyndon (Ann Marie) & Lyle Old Elk, TyLynn (Shana) & Thomas Ten Bear, Alan Que Three Irons, Ron (Garla) Williamson, Jr., Marlon (Debbie) Passes, Shawn Backbone, Sr. and a grandson Sid Whiteclay, whom he took in as a son.

Uncle Gale Three Irons, who was also considered a father.

Preceded in death by his parents, his wife Connie Wallace Dawes, uncles Claude “Sonny” Dawes, Joseph Max Ten Bear, Tyrone Ten Bear, brothers Arlo Dawes, Buster Three Irons & Terrance Ten Bear
