Darwin Mark Lefthand

The Black Eagle/Lefthand family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and monetary gifts.

Vigil will be held on Monday January 17th, 2022, 3-4pm at Bullis Funeral Chapel and funeral services will be held on Tuesday January 18th, 2022 at 11am at Crow Revival Center.

Our heavenly Father called our beloved brother, uncle, nephew, and son home on January 12, 2022. Darwin Mark Lefthand, 37, BILETAACHIIDUSH (Clear Water), was given to him by his grandfather, Hartford “Sonny” Black Eagle. Darwin was a Ties the Bundle and Child of the Big Lodge Clan. Darwin was born in Billings, Montana, to Charlene Black Eagle and Eymard Lefthand on May 6, 1984.

Darwin was a member of the Arrow Creek International Ministries and Crow Revival Center in Crow Agency. He received his elementary education at Pryor Public, Plenty Coups High School, and Lodge Grass Public Schools. In 2003, he graduated from Lodge Grass High School.

Darwin was an excellent student. He was always on the honor roll while in school. He excelled in football and basketball. While in high school, his dad would take him to the gym at 5 AM to shoot 100 three-pointers to start his day. He became one of the best three-point shooters in high school. Brandon Spotted Horse witnessed Darwin being an excellent three-point shooter, he gave him his nickname “H Bomb.”

He went on to college and obtained an Associates of Science in Mathematics with Pre-Engineering option from Little Big Horn College in 2008. Darwin’s career included working as an engineering tech for the Crow Tribe, labor work, and most recently worked at the Westmoreland Resources for nine years, where he knew he would someday retire.

Darwin was a devoted brother, uncle, nephew, son, grandpa and friend who loved his family unconditionally. Most importantly, he loved being an uncle to his nephews and nieces, and he followed those who played basketball to watch them play. Darwin was their favorite fan. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, arrow thrower, and outdoorsman. Always helping others, often giving his best advice, and tender love. He loved to share God’s word and would give his best encouragement. Darwin was always in the right place at the right time. He loved everyone he met. Darwin enjoyed taking part in his cultural ways, including throwing arrows. He was a very fluent Crow speaker.

Darwin is preceded in death by his mother Charlene Black Eagle and father Eymard Lefthand. His brothers Darnell and Darrell Lefthand, and a sister, Jonita Vaschelle.

Survivors include his brothers Richard Lefthand, Cameron ( Normanda ), Josh Black Eagle. Sisters: Sarah (Stanley) Rideshorse, Lori Stewart, Tiara (Sonny) Black Eagle. Adopted brothers; Gilford SeesTheGround, Clarent Stewart, Kevin (Jennifer) Chavez.

Nieces: Darrelyn (Jacie) Hogan, Trinity Lefthand, Ashley Crow, Raeshon, Manina, Cadence, Fanci Lefthand, Charity, and Kyla Black Eagle, Kourtney, and Emma Chavez.

Nephews: Darnell (Aubrey) Lefthand, Famous Lefthand, Irvin, Thomas (Farah), Richard jr. (Luisa) Crow, Tony Rideshorse, Caron, Baby Richard jr, Dane, Jayden, Jaiven, DJ.

God Son; Ethan Yarlott, Step Mother; Sarah Left Hand.
