Deborah Marie Sjostrom passed peacefully 7/23/25 at Billings Clinic with family and her favorite music. Debbi was a mother of 2, grandmother of 2 and friend to all.
Debbi was born 7/19/54 to Harvey Lloyd & Evelyn (Weed) Jones. She was raised in Hinsdale, MT and graduated as salutatorian in 1972. After graduation she took photography classes at Bellevue Community College in WA. In 1973 she married Ronald Sjostrom and moved to the family farm North of Malta They had 2 children, Kipp and Amy. Debbi worked hard alongside the Sjostrom family and also cooked in Malta and worked at NAPA as a bookkeeper.
Ron & Debbi divorced in the Mid 80's and Debbi ran the Mint Bar for many years. She later moved to Billings and stayed with her Aunt Rene to attend MSU-College of Technology and received an Associate Business degree. Back in Malta, she worked at First Security Bank until her health complications took her off her feet. In 2017 she moved to Billings. She was active with friends through a book club, game group, bible study and in most recent years, started a diamond art group.
Mom took care of everyone in any way she could; a meal, a ride, balancing a checkbook, ironing, sewing, listening, and her favorite, being Auntie Bea and Grandma Bea to family and those she babysat. Her door was always open, even at 2am for breakfast. Mom was kind, never judged and treated everyone as a friend. Please remember her smile and laugh whenever you witness a good deed, hear Patsy Cline, see Betty Boop or get asked if you want Roquefort dressing on your salad!
Survivors include her mother Evelyn (Weed) Jones, siblings Lorri (Corby) Palm, Mike (Teresa) Jones and Chuck (Angie) Jones, children Kipp (Alisha Oxarart) Sjostrom and Amy (Richard) Johnsen, grandchildren Tyanna Dunbar and Jordan Markuson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Special thank you to Larry Atkins for showing Mom love, sharing your faith, helping with her garden and giving Mom a wonderful 71st birthday. So happy she enjoyed a day trip and her garden before she was called "Home Home".
A memorial potluck picnic will be held September 6, 1pm at Trafton Park in Malta. Meat and buns will be provided. At 2pm we will have a service and allow friends and family the opportunity to share a story or prayer. You may mail condolences to Amy Johnsen at 410 Mills Ave, Gillette WY 82718. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local food bank or community garden.
