Fray Jefferson Nomee, 65, of Lodge Grass, MT went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 3, 2026, while in the St. Vincent hospital surround by her loving family.
Fray was a member of the Ties the Bundle Clan and a child of the Ties the Bundle Clan.
She was born on August 27, 1960, in Crow Agency, MT to Raymond & Ione Jefferson. She married her best friend, Victor Carlos Nomee Sr., on June 25, 1982, and the couple made their home in Lodge Grass. She grew up and received her education in Lodge Grass and later received her GED. She worked for the Crow Tribe from 1992-1996, working numerous jobs until her transition to the Indian Health Service. Since 1996, She was employed with the Indian Health Service as a medical records technician, then later a medical support assistant until her passing. She was deeply dedicated to her work and was widely respected within the community for her professionalism and unwavering commitment to the patients she served. She was a faithful member of the Lodge Grass church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Victor Carlos Nomee Sr., son Victor Champ Nomee Jr., parents Raymond Sr. and Ione Jefferson; grandparents, Mary and Lester Jefferson Sr., Percy and Evelyn Ohlerking Healy; uncles, Charles, Benedict, Lester Jr., Warren Sr., Calvin Sr., Wesley Sr. Jefferson, Brian Renville; aunts, Starr Stops and Judith Big Lake; her brothers, Larry Dean, Jeffery Sr., Calvin Jr., Bernard Sr., Jimmy Big Lake; sisters, Sheila Jefferson, Delinda Jefferson, Verena Costa, Lydia Hill, Leann Old Bull, Jennifer Big Lake. Nephew Cameron Russell; grandchildren, Heaven Malebear Stone and Angel Jefferson Lafrance.
Survivors include her children CasiRae Nomee, Nehemiah Carlos, Cowboy Hoops, Tia (Josiah) Pickett, Cherish Dawes, Thomas Dean Sr., Quadon Morning, Christopher and Chistiana Toineeta, Varian Not Afraid, Mike and Rob Nomee, and LeDawn Plain Feather; brothers Dave (Lilly), Raymond Jr., Arnold (Coretta), Chipper (Janet) Fitzpatrick, George Pretty Weasel, Darren (Shelly) Charges Strong, Darren and Ricky Renville, Columbo, Mike (Rita) Stops, Ronnie (Betty) Big Lake, Warren Jr.; sisters Judy, Junetta Jefferson, Leda Good Luck, Letha (Dan) Gun Shows, Denise Nomee, Evelyn Jefferson, Dorothy North Piegan, Rebecca Stovall, and Jennifer Jefferson, Clemencia Stops, Emma Richardson, Rhonda (Pedro) Hernandez, Marlis and Muggy Filesteel, Karen and Maxine Jefferson and Sandra Grant; aunts, Connie (Bruce) Russell, Melissa Falls Down, Carol Renville, Peggy and Wanda Healy and Laura Pickett, Clarice Denny, Loretta Three Irons, Myra Left Hand, Annebelle, Barbara, and Rose Helen; uncles, Grady Huntsthearrow, and Percy Healy Jr. She was cherished by all her nieces and nephews, and was affectionately known by them as “Mama Fray,” Coolidge III (Michelle), Missy (Clint), Jeff Jr. (Amica), Azurene Ione (Allarie), Larry Dean, Ricky, Carol (Gavi), Dave III, Megan, Lyndzee, Louie (Crystal), Sonny Bono, RayeDawn, Vivica, TJay, Edson Ray, Clyde, Tommi Ann, Tawny Rae, Tomcho, Skylar, Hudson, Elisha, Shekinah, Kidd, Amber, Clay, Marina, Wilbur, Solon, Yvonna, Autumn, Darren Jr., Carl Curtis, Kristin (Daniel), Nathan (Amy), Kristi (Richard) Old Coyote, Danelle Fitzpatrick, Danetta Takes Enemy.
