Hannah Arlene Bird In Ground-Rock Above-Pretty On Top, 82 was called home to her Heavenly Father on the night of August 4, 2023. Hannah was born on October 21, 1940, in Pryor, Montana to Andrew Bird In Ground and Mabel Lincoln, she was later adopted by Joseph and Winnie Rock Above; and was also raised by Rose Lincoln.
She was a member and a child of the Bad War Deeds clan and a member of the Tobacco Society. She was given the name “Isáashkakooxiissaash”, Undefeated racehorse given by Fred Smart Enemy.
She grew up and attended schools in Lodge Grass, Billings and Pryor. She worked various jobs throughout her life, starting as a flagger with road construction, carpet mills, Crow Mercantile and a substitute at the Crow Agency School Library, as well as being an avid housewife.
Hannah loved to sew and work on beading projects at a young age to help her mama, Rose. She loved to read, sing, collect lighthouses, watch the Bronco football games and being a farmer's wife. In 1971 she met and married Kenneth D. Pretty On Top. Together, they established their family home in Reno Creek, Montana, where they shared countless memories, laughter, and love. Their bond was a testament to the enduring power of love and devotion.
Hannah's gentle soul and kind heart endeared her to all who crossed her path. She leaves behind cherished memories and a profound impact on her family, friends, and community. While we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing that she now rests in eternal peace, reunited with loved ones who have gone before her.
