Harold Pretty Weasel Obituary

Harold Brian Pretty Weasel, 73, of Crow Agency, passed away to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Billings Clinic, surrounded by loved ones.

Harold was born January 9, 1953, to Owen Pretty Weasel Jr. and Kathryn “Katie” Froze Pretty Weasel in Crow Agency. He was a member of the Big Lodge clan and a child of the Ties the Bundle clan. “Many Bulls”, his Crow name, was given to him by the late John Half. Harold would participate in Sun Dances, Sweat Lodges, and was a devoted man of the Lord.

He completed high school in Hardin, graduating in the Class of 1972. He played basketball in high school and was a member of the Upward Bound. Harold would join in basketball tournaments in his younger years with friends and family. During his younger years, he worked as a BIA Crow fire fighter, oil rig, logging company, Crow Tribal roads, and for 32 years he worked at Sarpy Mines as a drag line operator until his injury. He was always talking about his time at Sarpy Mines with his coworkers and family. There are always so many funny stories he would talk about all the time at Sarpy and mention how great it was to work with his little brother George on the drag line.

Harold always enjoyed and loved watching all his sports on TV. Any chance he got, he would watch his football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and his college football team, the Texas Longhorns. When the college basketball season was going on, he was trying to watch any game that was being played, especially his North Carolina Tar Heels. He would always be hoopin’ and hollering while watching his sports on TV or at sporting events. But most of all, he always loved his NASCAR racing every weekend, Jeff Gordon being his favorite driver until his retirement.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Owen Jr. and Katie Pretty Weasel; his brothers, Fred, Eddie, and Howard Pretty Weasel; nephews, Hank Blacksmith and Nathan “Nate” Pretty Weasel; niece, Stephanie Pretty Weasel; stepson, Nephi House; and step-grandson Neichan House. As well as numerous adopted brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, and close friends.
