Jason Wade Edwards

It is with deep love and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jason Wade Edwards, age 47, a cherished presence whose life touched many.  Jason left this world on June 17, 2026, peacefully with family at his side. Born on August 2, 1978, Jason lived a life defined by kindness, hard work, a sharp sense of humor, and remarkable resilience.  He was known for his steady calm, his ability to make others laugh, and the generous spirit he carried into every part of his life.  Jason had a way of making people feel welcomed, understood, and valued.

A proud and avid San Francisco 49ers fan, Jason rarely missed watching a game.  His enthusiasm - whether celebrating a win or staying loyal through the tough seasons - was one of the many ways he shared joy with the people around him.

Jason worked for Family Dollar, where he was known for his reliability, dedication, and the kindness he showed to coworkers and customers alike.  His strong work ethic was a reflection of the way he approached life- always giving his best, always showing up for others. In his free time, Jason enjoyed collecting trading cards, building his movie collection, and playing video games.  These hobbies brought him joy, relaxation, and countless moments of fun that he loved sharing with the people close to him.

He is survived by his father, William “Bill” Edwards; his mother, Debbie Vandersloot Edwards; his sister, Heather (John) Ross; and his beloved nieces, Anna and Reighlynn, who brought him immense joy.  He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins on both the Vandersloot and Edwards sides of the family, all of whom held a special place in his heart.  Jason is further survived by his cherished furry friend, Shadow, and numerous friends he considered family.

Jason is preceded in death by his grandparents Ida and Ellison Edwards, as well as Bonnie and Charles Vandersloot, who welcomed him home with love.

A Celebration of Life will be held on June 24, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Bullis Mortuary, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Jason’s life.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, and a meal will be served afterward at the Bullis Family Center, where loved ones can continue sharing stories and supporting one another.  Jason Wade Edwards will be deeply missed, remembered always, and loved forever.
