Jerry Ferderer Obituary

Jerry Lee Ferderer, 66, of Hardin, Montana passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. He was born on April 13, 1958, in Roundup, Montana to Lillian (Gable) and Eugene Ferderer, but he only lived there for the first 3 weeks of his life. He was raised and attended school in Hardin. Jerry met the love of his life in December of 1979 and they were married on April 23, 1983. Jerry was a generous and giving person who was so proud of his children and 3 beautiful granddaughters. He loved camping, boating, and hanging out with his family and friends. He enjoyed tinkering on his cars and taking care of his yard. He also liked going to the Farmer’s Market in Billings where he would tell people he was the “transportation engineer.”

Jerry was known for being the best mechanic. He learned his craft working alongside his father at Gene’s Salvage Yard, later working at Ford in Hardin for 29 years. He became ASE certified, then went to work at Hardin Chevrolet for 17 years until his semi-retirement in 2023, where he would go in daily just to “check on the boys.” Jerry is preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother, Wesley Ferderer. He is survived by his wife Sherilyn, daughter Megan (Rick) Bokma of Columbus, MT, and son Matthew (Allison) of Billings. Jerry is also survived by his 3 granddaughters: Dahlia, Lillian, and Vivian, as well as his sisters Laurie (Bill) Holland of Park City, MT, and Carrie Ferderer of Billings, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials can be made to the Big Horn County Historical Society, The American Cancer Society, or the Jerry Ferderer Memorial Scholarship, through Hardin Chevrolet.
