Joshua B. Rides Horse

Joshua Bartholomew Rides Horse, 36, of Crow Agency, MT passed away peacefully to the other side of camp on July 17, 2023. He was born on April 24, 1987 in Sheridan, WY to Sheila Rides Horse and the late Harley Good Bear. Josh attended school in Crow Agency and Hardin. He had a few labor jobs; his last job was at Family Dollar with sister Tammy. Josh loved to go fishing, play ball, hangout with friends and listen to music. He always liked joking around with others. Most of all, he cherished his baby girls Dessie and Rey’lynn, they were his pride and joy. He was the best dad he could be to them. His Indian name is Looing for Something Good given to him by one of his late grandmothers, Amy White Man. He was also raised by sister Tammy and Travis Brien and his Auntie Pamela Little Light. Later he moved in with Sasha and Dawnshea, who also took care of him.

Josh is survived by 2 beautiful daughters Dessie Rey and Rey’lynn Jayceon Rides Horse; his mother Sheila Rides Horse; his siblings Brittany Rondeau, Tammy Dawn (Travis) Brien, Sr., Glendora (George) Goes Ahead, Gary B. Dawes, Patrick Nenemkin, and family; sisters Alvilene (Joseph Buffalo Bull Tail Jr), Margaret Little Light, Colleen Bunnell, Eunice (Champ) Takes Horse, Mary (Raven) Price, Faye Enick, Adora (AJ) Turns Plenty, Felicia (Lane) Schenderline, Yolanda (Chester) Turnsplenty, Lucinda  Old Crow, Colleen Stops, Michelle and Maryilyn Stops, MaryAnn, Faye, Priscilla Hogan, Jolene Rides Horse, Jashawn Iron, Norma Jane Dawes, Fanny Ward, LeeAnn (Jackson) Pretty On Top; brothers John (Ruta), Lewis (Royann) Francis Enick, Preston Old Crow, Marvin, Ricky, Melville Stops, Gary Rides Horse, Jr., Lonnie Stewart, Garrick Hogan, Daniel Rides Horse, Bruce (Patty) Dawes, Orrin and Robert Clarence Pickett; aunts Kathryn Old Crow, Pamela Little Light, Martha (Richard) King, Sharon and Leita Rides Horse and Glenette Alden; uncles Melvin Stops, Sammy, Gary Sr, and Golden Eagle Rides Horse. Josh also has a large family in North Dakota on his dad’s side. His aunties are Carol Good Bear and Deanna Persian, and Uncle Darwin “Jake” Good Bear and family, the Wolf and Driver family. His nieces and nephews Junior, Armondo, Nicole, Markuz, and Deon Brien, iimy and Omii Rides Horse, Marlan, Anondo, Zander, Baby George Goes Ahead and Brian and Gabriel Bellrock all whom he loved very much. As well as Baby Gary and Norman Dawes which he was very close with.

Josh is preceded in death by his father Harley Good Bear; Grandparents Fannie Other Black Bird Deernose, Samuel Rides Horse, Sr.; aunts Violet Enick, Nadine Rides Horse, Ruby and Judy Plainfeather; uncles Norman Dawes, Hartford Stops, Sam Other Black Bird, Merle, Lee and Raphel Plain Feather; sisters Starla Fitzpatrick and Kathy Stops; brothers Maynard Little Light, Sebastien Stops, Nathan Old Crow, Romann Bellrock; nieces Jocilynn Enick, Lucia Eagleman, Elsie Plain Feather; nephews Clinton Old Bull and Mitchell Chandler, Jr.

Entended families are Bird Hat, Dawes, Smart Enemy, Big Hail, Comes Up, Decrane, Redstar, Bearcrane, Backbone, Flatmouth, Plainbull, Roundface, Old Coyote, Badbear, Bellrock, Plainfeather, Stewart, OldBull, Guardipee, Carlotta Half and family. His Rocky Boy families are Chiefstick, Chief Goes Out, Big Knife, Raining Bird, IronMaker, Topsky, Morsette, Caplett, Denny and Stiffarm. Our family is very large, please forgive us in our time of grief if we have forgotten anyone.
