Josiah LaForge Dust Obituary

Josiah Stephen Excel LaForge Dust, 33, passed away on July 6, 2026, in Billings, Montana.

Josiah was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend whose presence brought laughter, comfort, and strength to those around him. He will be remembered for his goofy sense of humor, fun-loving spirit, loyalty, honesty, humility, and deep faith in God. Josiah loved spending time with family and friends, watching movies, throwing arrows with his uncles and brothers (No Water), and watching his brothers play softball and golf with his brother-in-law Jason. More than anything, he treasured the people he loved and the time he shared with them.

Josiah attended Pretty Eagle Catholic School and Lodge Grass High School. He later continued his education at Stone Child College, where he graduated in 2018 with a degree in Mathematics and Science. Throughout his life, Josiah worked hard in many different roles, including firefighting, roofing, retail, Western Sugar Warehouse, construction, CEC, and other jobs. He was known as a hardworking man who did what he could to provide for his family, help others, and keep moving forward through life.

Josiah was preceded in death by his father, James Paul Dust; his mother, Patricia Chantelle LaForge Dust; his grandfathers, Victor Dust Sr. and Daniel Ceivert LaForge; and his grandmothers, Violet Rose Hugs and Dorothea Dust.

He is survived by his beloved children, daughter Zariah Dust and son Tyree Dust; his sisters, Chantelle (Jason) Big Back and Lilly LaForge Dust; his brothers, Seth (Iyannii) Dust and David Dust; his nieces, Harmony Dust, Natalie Dust, and Zelda Dust; his nephews, Asher AfraidofBear and Jaeger Dust; his aunts, Dawn (Glenn) Plenty Hawk, Joen White & Charlene Hogan; his uncles, JR (Verena) Dust, Tim Dust, Mike Dust, and Kirt (Elsie) LaForge; as well as many extended family members from the LaForge, Enemy Hunter, Hugs, Big Lake, Dust, Jefferson, Red Star, and Mountain Pocket families.

Our family is large, and if we have unintentionally missed anyone, please accept our sincere apology.

Josiah will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his children, family, and friends, and in the many lives he touched with his laughter, kindness, and love.
