Judy Morissette Obituary

Judy went home to Heaven on Memorial Day, May 29, 2023. She was born in Bartlesville,
Oklahoma, August 2, 1943, to her parents, Rev. Monroe and Agnes Landers. Her family
moved to Edna, Kansas where she attended school. She graduated from Labette County
High School in 1961. After meeting Richard Morissette at a family dinner at Christmas time
in 1960, she changed her choice of colleges from Baylor University to Friends University
in Wichita Kansas so she could see Richard when came to pick up new aircraft for his
employer. On their third date (in June 1961) she said yes to be his wife. A year later, on
August 19, 1962, they were married. They made their home in Laurel, Montana where
they lived for 5 years.
After 3 miscarriages and an opportunity for both to teach, they accepted positions at Heart
Butte, Montana where they remained for three years. During this time, she received her
degree in Elementary Education from the University on Montana. They then both accepted
teaching positions in Hardin, Montana where they taught for two years. Both were very
active in Richard's home church. After receiving word that Judy was pregnant again and
Richard had accepted the superintendent position of schools, they moved to Rosebud
Montana, where they lived for four years. During this time, their children, Nicole and Marc,
were born.
Judy returned to teaching after they moved to Oregon where she taught Kindergarten at
Willamette Christian School. In 1989 she and Richard received a call to pastor his home
church in Hardin, Montana. While serving in the church, she and a friend started Noah's
Ark Daycare. This was the highlight of her life: teaching young children about Jesus! The
couple retired to Ocala, Florida in 2006 and lived there until they moved to Greeley,
Colorado in 2020 to be closer to their children.
She is survived by her husband Richard of almost sixty-one years, her daughter Nicole
Kary and her husband Andy, their daughters Katie Morrison (and her husband Joseph)
and Kendall; Marc and his wife Tiffany, their daughters Lauren and Sarah. Memorial
services will at Meadowview Assisted Living, Greeley, Colorado, Sunday June 4, 2023, 10
AM and at the Open Bible Church, Hardin, Montana, June 13, 2023, 11AM.
