Kenneth Morrison, Sr. Obituary

Kenneth Vernon Morrison, Sr. “The First and the Last (Baawasséeháakeésh)” was his Crow name given to him by the late “Papa” David Yarlott, Sr. Kenneth, affectionately known as, “Baby Kane,” passed away tragically on November 1, 2023, in Billings, MT.

Kenneth, the son of Larry and Judith Morrison, was born October 2, 1992, in Crow Agency, Montana. He was a member of the Bad War Deed and child of the Greasy Mouth Clans. He grew up in Dunmore and Alligator Creek and spent most of his childhood at Black Lodge where his “Mama” Linda Morrison always kept the door open. He was also taken in as their own by Thomas Sr. and Mary Ten Bear.

Kenneth attended Hardin schools, played sports during jr. high and high school and enjoyed his time he spent with many great friends. He graduated from Hardin High School class of 2011. Kenneth found time to help his father with haying, break horses, braiding halters, reins and lead ropes, work on trucks, and learn the love of hunting. Kenneth married Eleisha Shield and had a ten-year loving relationship raising their daughters Mekwan, Marie (passed 2012), sons Kenneth Vernon Jr. and Lucas Thomas Morrison. They later divorced but remained best friends.  He loved her with all his “blood and guts”.

Kenneth had a natural talent and taught the kids the love of hunting, fishing and how to appreciate an adventure on the backroads. He loved his kids immensely and tried to do best for them when he could.

Kenneth met KrisAnn Buffalo and had a baby boy Tatee’k “Teddy” Cole Morrison on November 2, 2022.

Kenneth had many close friends and family throughout his lifetime, too many to mention. His circle was large, and he had a friend wherever he went.

Kenneth was someone who would've given you the shirt off his back even if it was his last one. He'd help anyone who needed it. Kenneth enjoyed his kids, hunting, riding horses, having a good time with his friends, swapping hunting stories, living a true, crow, mountain man lifestyle. We are going to miss his epic bear hugs, louder voice, goofier personality, and most of all his huge and caring heart.

On November 1, 2023, Baby Kane joined his partner, his dad Larry Kane.

He is preceded in death by his children Marie and Tatee’k Morrison, father Larry Morrison, his uncles Alvin III, Randy, Morrison, Eddie Alden. His natural father, Greg Three Irons. His paternal aunt Laura Rides Horse and maternal uncles Arlen Whiteman, Sr., Charles Wilson, Gary Gordon, and John Whiteman; maternal aunts Elizabeth Reece, Emma Guardipee, and Estelle Whiteman.
