Loretta “Buffy” Gros Ventre/Nomee, 54 of Lodge Grass, MT passed away January 13, 2025 in Billings, MT at St.Vincent Hospital surrounded by family. ISAASH XIASSEE “Very Pretty Blanket” given to her by her maternal grandmother Rita Don’t Mix. She was born on August 4, 1970 daughter of Myra Gros Ventre and Orrie Plain Bull. She was adopted and raised by Harriet Don’t Mix and Gilbert Scott Sr. She grew up and attended schools in Lodge Grass, Wyola and Billings, graduating in 1989. She had been employed at the Lodge Grass cafeteria, later earning her CDL driving bus for Wyola, Lodge Grass and Pryor schools. She married Dee Nomee and lived in Paris France and later made their home in Lodge Grass. Buffy was a member of the Catholic Church. She was a member of the Big Lodge clan and child of the Greasy Mouth.
She is survived by her children Shantell, Raston, Frances, Sage, RayShawna, Raykwon and Rayven Redstar, Diana Rockabove; mothers Myra, Honey Bun (Curtis), Luanna Stewart and Regina Gros Ventre; Kaale Mary Helen (Alex) Medicine Horse, Russel Wallace; siblings Albert (Bekki) Gros Ventre, Patrick Kindness, Benny, Gail and Deserae Rockabove, Eric and Olivia Plainbull, O’Shon Old Elk, Christine, Gilbert and Daniel, Debbie and Marchelle Scott, Shawn Birdinground, Adrian and Wahmbli Brokenrope, Stanley Rideshorse, Ron Garritson, John Lucero, Thomas Yarlott, Bradford Crooked Arm, Jeff Packsthehat, Robert Hedoesit Sara Kindness, Debbie Backbone, Rachel Don’t Mix, Tyson Gros Ventre, Dean and Shay Don’t Mix, Tawnya Old Coyote and Lillian Nomee; uncles Woodrow Brien, Josh, Francis and Willie Springfield, Lansing Birdinground; aunts Mary and Beth Springfield, Beth, Rita, JR and Mark Nomee, Cheryl Jefferson, Sarah Steffan and Ivan Don’t Mix, Amy, Twyla and Ellie Old Elk. She was a devoted mother and Kaala, she loved all of her nieces and nephews and claimed them as her own as well as her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Terrina, Frances and Bill Gros Ventre, Emma, Rita, Harriet and Ivan Don’t Mix, Robert Brien, Sr., Paul Matt, Sr., Cyrus and Jennie Gros Ventre, Donna Jefferson.
