Martin George Reeves, Jr.

Martin G. Reeves, 65, of Hardin, MT passed away suddenly on August 28, 2023 in a tragic accident. 

Marty grew up in Hardin and spent his younger years working at Warren’s Feed Lot until he graduated from Hardin High School in 1977.  

He was a member of the Hardin Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years. He married Lisa Barnes on May 30, 1981. They were together for 42 years and had a son Jerod and a daughter Mattie. They lived in Dickinson and Bismark, ND and Bakersfield, CA where he worked for Dowell’s before making their home in Hardin, MT. 

He enjoyed his years as a custom cutter as well as farming and working on various well drilling projects throughout the region. At the time of his death, he was working for Big Horn County Irrigation District. 

He is preceded in death by his father Martin W. Reeves and his mother Shirley (Izenhower) Reeves.  Marty is survived by Lisa (Barnes) Reeves, his son Jerod, daughter Mattie, and grandchildren Karmen, Karsyn, Lexis, Gilbert, and his sister Claire (Reeves) Carleton. He is also survived by his beloved Peggy.

A celebration of life and potluck meal will be held September 9, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hardin Volunteer Fire Department, 1204 N. Custer Ave., Hardin, MT 59034.
