Jesus reached down His hand and whispered “Come with me”, Mike took His hand and went home into eternity.
Michael GoodLuck, 57, went home to be with his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ. Báa Kuuxsish “One that’s helpful” an Indian name given to him from Philemon Five was born December 5, 1967, to Aloysious and Gloria (Driftwood) Good Luck Sr., he belonged to the Greasy Mouth clan & was a child of the Ties the Bundle.
Mike grew up and received his education in Lodge Grass where he excelled in basketball & football. 1984-1987 were the highlights of his life, assisting the Lodge Grass Indians basketball team to 2 state appearances along side his brother. Mike was a die-hard Lodge Grass fan. He enjoyed watching his daughter, nephews, nieces & grandchildren participate in sports & would always encourage them, trying to make it to every event. Michael had a love for horses, always assisting his father, Al. He’d break, train & ride his dad’s horses & those who would ask. Mike had his own relay team along side his father called Bald Eagle. He was anxiously awaiting the Indian relay season to cheer on his brother Dale, Jr. & nephew Dane. Mike loved to go to rodeos & even participated in the steer riding event in his early years.
No matter what Mike was facing, he always tend to have a smile on his face & would check on everyone, asking “Di Shoda?”. Conversations always ended with laughter. He was an all-around guy, from horses to participating and singing at powwows, hand games, arrow throwing, Sundance & singing Crow hymns at church.
Mike was a member of the Night Hawk Society and El-Bethal Church. He worked a variety of jobs including the Billings Library, roofing, a cable company, AML, and was a custodian.
Mike met Loretta Takes Horse in 1990, the couple made their home in Lodge Grass. Together they created many memories & from this union came his pride & joy, Magdalene.
Despite his circumstances. He had to be at every event or celebration. He leaves behind a lot of loved ones.
His parents, brother Aloysious Jr.; sisters Alfredine, Alverna, his twin Magdalene, & Mary Althea, adopted parents Melvin & Elsie Pretty Paint, maternal grandparents Harvey Driftwood & Mary Fights Wellknown, paternal grandparent Matthew Good Luck & Minnie Saco; good friends/brothers Jared Black Eagle, Edgar Old Bull, Mike Takes Enemy, Tyler Left Hand, Curtis Bad Bear, Robert Little Light & many close relatives preceded Mike in death.
He leaves behind his wife of 35 years, Loretta, his children Manuel (Yelena) Bright Wings, Magdalene GoodLuck & Carlene (Gary) Johnson; grandchildren Zion, Jah, Maude, Goku Bright Wings & Uriah Johnson; brothers Byron (Maria) BadBear, Dale (Christine), Chris (Jacinta), Brian & Dale Jr (Myriah) GoodLuck, Tommy (Mildred) Carpenter, Everett & Darren Howe, Dennis Bravo, Lyndon Driftwood, Rex Chavez, Royce (Miriam) Wolf, Larry Garcia, Jr., Rueben, Junior & David Falls Down, Tex (Cody), Dean (Almeda), & Leo (Aldean) GoodLuck; sisters Colleen Good Luck, Candace (David) Dawes, Mandy (JC) DeCrane, Carissa (Ross) Pretty on Top & Shannon Rockabove, Mary (Eldon) Not Afraid, Ramona (Brian) Blacksmith, Deann Azure, Valarie & Sonya Falls Down, Jackie Pina, Monnie Bell Rock, Geneva & Germaine Black Eagle, Jackie Little Bird, Mary Garcia, & Glannette (Orin) Alden, Jewanna, Annie, Lucille & Alverna Plenty Hawk; adopted siblings Melvina Dawes, Melva (Ray) Iron, Brenda, Clyde & Victor Pretty Paint; nieces Michelle & Natasha Yarlott, Tiffany (Addikin) Stewart, Danny, Meriah, Tamura, Keemer, Gwendale, & Whisper GoodLuck, Charolett (Boyd) Russell & Trish Bad Bear, Kylei & Kaycei Hugs; nephews Shylon (Bethany) Three Irons & his namesake LeDaneian Michael & Mason Hugs; aunts Vicki Howe, Karen Driftwood, Tanya & Claudine Dust, Carmen White Hip, Maria Onion, Arna Morrison, Leita & Trudy Rides Horse, Agnes Left Hand and Alma Real Bird; uncles Robert (Sargie) Howe, Tilton (Sarah) Old Bull, Mike, Chris, & Curtis Driftwood, Hanks, Curtis, & Harold Rides Horse, Mike and Harold Hill, & John Bullinsight, good friends George Pretty Weasel, Mark Spotted Horse, Becky Graham, Mark Chandler, Scott & Emmett Old Bull, Brad Black Eagle, & his basketball teammates.
