Michaelene Whiteman Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Michaelene "Mickey" Whiteman, who left us on May 30, 2025, at the age of 85. Born in Crow Agency, Montana, Mickey lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion and grace to her family.

Those who knew Mickey will remember her gentle spirit and the warmth she brought to every encounter. She was known throughout Crow country for her long walks, always greeting everyone with a genuine smile and friendly hello. Mickey found joy in life's simple pleasures—losing herself in a good book, a game of solitaire, solving crossword puzzles, browsing through gossip magazines, and coloring books. Music was the soundtrack to her life, often flowing from her little red stereo in the kitchen that seemed to capture the rhythm of her joyful heart.

After the passing of her husband, Arlen Whiteman Sr., Mickey found companionship and purpose in her special bond with her youngest son, Charles. Together, they embraced life's everyday moments—shopping trips to Billings with grandson Jake, evening cruises around the neighborhood, and cozy nights at home watching their favorite shows while sharing their favorite snacks. An avid thrift shopper with an eye for comfy clothing, Mickey knew how to find treasures and make every dollar count.

Family gatherings were Mickey's greatest celebration. She had a special tenderness for babies, drawn to their pure innocence and genuine wonder. Her home was truly a sanctuary where family meant everything, and her gift for making any house feel like a warm, welcoming home will be remembered by all who experienced her hospitality.

Mickey will be remembered as a smart, warm, funny, patient, and loving soul—a woman of virtue, grace, and strength who touched countless lives with her generous spirit. She was truly a one-of-a-kind mother who understood that love transforms a house into a home.

In honor of Mickey's wishes, she will be cremated. An open casket viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025, providing an opportunity for family and friends to pay their final respects to a woman who gave so much love to so many.

Mickey's legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her and in the strong family bonds she nurtured throughout her remarkable 85 years of life.

Mickey was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John and Florence Doyle; her cherished husband, Arlen Whiteman Sr.; her siblings Mervin Haven, Bobby Doyle, Pat Doyle, Chuck Doyle, and Timmy (Rose Mae) Doyle; and her dearest friend, Phyllis Peters. Her memory lives on through her surviving sisters, Deanna Dreamer, Louise Doyle, and Penny Bad Bear; her brother Johnny (Aggie) Doyle; sisters-in-laws Joan, Karen, Judy, Leah; brother-in-laws Butch and Vernon, and the numerous nieces and nephews she loved and cared for as her own, including the late Lance and Jonni Dreamer, and Bomber and Pat Doyle.
