Nancy Lilly Takes Gun-Half

Visitation Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16 from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. Funeral service will be on Saturday, October 17 at the Bullis Funeral Chapel in Hardin at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the Crow Agency Cemetery.

Nancy Lilly Takes Gun-Half, 45, of Crow Agency, Mt started her journey to the Other Side Camp on October 12, 2021. She was born on September 23, 1976, a daughter of Elsie and the late Dan Half. Her Indian Name, given to her by the late Harriet Leider, was “Shining Light.”

She is a member of the Big Lodge Clan and a child of the Piegan Clan.

Nancy grew up in the Crow Agency area and attended Crow Elementary School. She continued her education at Pretty Eagle, Hardin and Standfield High School in Oregon.

She was a natural horsewoman and excelled in barrel racing at a young age. She was nine years old when she made the finals in the Adult Category Barrel Racing. Nancy also participated in steer riding, and broke horses with her late brother John.

Nancy worked at a pig farm outside of Hardin, and was a Flagger for the roads. Later worked for the Crow Tribe under several different departments.

The joy of her life was her granddaughter DaniLynn.
