Pamela Little Light Obituary

Pamela Enid Stops at Pretty Places Sings Good Little Light, 81, Awa Dupish Bellaalash, “Wishes to see another year” of Dunmore, went to other side of camp on December 22, 2024.  She was born on November 18, 1943, in Crow Agency, MT, to Clark Stops at Pretty Places and Fannie Other Black Bird.  She was a member of the Big Lodge Clan and child of Bad War Deed. Pamela was adopted by Simpson and Faith Sings Good and was given her Indian name by her late grandmother Mary Medicine Dance.

 

Pamela grew up in Pryor, MT and attended school in Pryor and Holbrook, AZ.  She grew up on a ranch home, raising race horses with her dad.  Horses were her life as a child.  This led her to being the Rodeo Queen in 1953.  Pamela enjoyed horse races, gambling, going into sweats, Sundances, Native American Church, powwows, traveling, beading and mostly spending time with her family and friends.  She married the late Alvin “Emil” Little Light in 1961.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents Clark Stops at Pretty Places and Fannie Other Black Bird, Simpson and Faith Sings Good; her brothers Hartford (Sylvia) Stops at Pretty Places, Willie Stewart, Iran Stewart, Chris Comes Up, Rosalind Comes Up, Norman (Avon) Dawes, Irvin (Sarah) Stewart, Fred Stops; her sisters Violet (Harold) Enick, Sheila Rides Horse, Nadine Rides Horse, Ruby and Judy Plain Feather, Shirley (Robert, Sr.) Pickett, Irma Jane (Edward) Bird Hat, Irma Lee (Emmette) Other Medicine, Maudine Dust, LaBerta Rondeaux and Kathy Gardner; her children Maynard Little Light and Margaret Little Light, Lonnie Stewart, Kathy Stops, Joshua Rides Horse, Roman Bell Rock, Faye Enick, Nathan Old Crow, Starla Old Crow, Mary Bird Hat, Tuffy Stops and Sebastian Stops; her grandchildren Mitchell “Jr Boy” Chandler, Jr., Heather Eastman, Jeremy Eastman, Stephan Little Light, Elsie Little Light, Clinton Old Bull, Sr. and Clinton Crazy Mule.

(Randy) Gordon and kids, Jackson and Liam and adopted daughter Ardith Birdin Ground; her brothers Melvin Stops at Pretty Places, Gary Rides Horse, Sr., Golden Eagle and Clinton Stops; her sisters Kathryn Old Crow, Sharon (Jerry) Kenyon and family, Martha Jane (Richard) King and family, Leita Rides Horse, Warlene Comes Up, Clemencia Stops and Patsy Yellowtail. She raised 4 of her grandchildren, Alvina Bull Tail, Simpson Little Light, Allen Crazy Mule and Sara Little Light.  She has 45 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 43 great-great grandchildren.

 

Her extended family includes Bad Bear, Pretty on Top, Stewarts, Two Leggings, Dawes, Old Coyote, Old Horn, Goes Ahead, Flat Mouth, Flat Lip, Bird Hat, Other Black Bird, Round Face, Red Star, Old Crane, Comes Up, Bull Tail, Bear Claw, Costa, Not Afraid, Ten Bear and Big Day.
