Paula Bahm, 73, of Hardin Montana, passed peacefully at MorningStar Senior Living in Billings, Montana, of natural causes, while surrounded by her family on June 2, 2025. Paula was born to William and Barbara VanLandingham in 1952 and raised in California, with her two sisters: Stephanie (Wesley) in Wisconsin and Julie in Oregon. She then moved to Montana, where she met her loving husband, Emil Bahm, Jr., and together they raised 7 children:
Stacy in Denver, Doug (Trudy) in Hardin, Jason (Karla) in Billings, Pam (Keith) in Miles City, Bruce (Heather) in Molt, Wendy (Tom) in Shepherd, and Susan (Eugene) in Gillette.
She was a fun grandmother of 13 and a great-grandmother of 5. Her family loved her scrumptious meals, her warm hugs and her sense of humor.
Her passion was preparing large meals, baking bread, cinnamon rolls, and desserts. Her specialty was making the best pies. Paula felt closest to the Lord when she was attending church, gardening, berry picking, and having large family gatherings at Easter and Christmas.
She loved country living, and being a rancher's wife to Emil. She enjoyed road trips to go see relatives in other states, and loved reminiscing about an Alaskan vacation she and Emil took in 2001. She was a very busy Mom, serving delicious meals to family and anybody else that arrived at the door. She was an active supporter of her children's and grandchildren's school activities. These activities included: basketball, volleyball, tennis, track meets, choir, band concerts and many more. Paula's greatest joy in life was her family.
Her extended family was extremely large, and she worked hard to ensure that everyone felt included and that family gatherings were memorable occasions.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
She will be deeply missed.
Her funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, June 14th at 11:00 am at Bullis Mortuary in Hardin, Montana, followed by a private family interment.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for memorial donations to be sent to MorningStar Senior Living in Billings and Stillwater Hospice in Billings, who both provided excellent care for Paula. We are very grateful.
